Healthcare for all Americans with reduced Premiums, lower deductibles, minimal co-pays, available across state lines and around the nation, lower prescription drug costs, unlimited lifetime limits, choose your own doctor, choose someone else’s doctor, never overpay another hospital or doctor again………..sounds great doesn’t it? This will be the Republican Plan for all those under 26 years of age. For those a little older…..the price will go up. For those a lot older the prices will be astronomical. For really old people…….they will be denied completely. They may even ban letting old people buy band aids and toilet paper. They just want to unceremoniously dump the old fogeys that voted for our Spectacular New President. And of course for the under 26 crowd there will be no more Planned Parenthood.
So, The Congressional Budget Office said that roughly 24 million people would be denied Health Care under the House of Representatives proposal to replace ObamaCare. The new Senate version…..yet to be totally vetted…..if it ever will…….is guaranteed to knock off another 15 million….just by pricing folks out of the market. Instead of expanding Medicaid for the States…….it crushes those programs with severe Budget Cuts. The poor, the seniors, the disabled and of course the immigrants have been put directly into the crosshairs and penalties aimed at the most easily targeted victims. This bring us back to the 2007 figures: About 44 million Americans without Heathcare of any kind.
Instead of taking aim at Prescription drug costs and the over prescription of medical procedures…..double and triple billing cycles…untold waste fraud and abuse throughout the industry,,,just let the market take command. What about our military and the availability of Cobra for active duty spouses and retirees? Don’t hold your breath. The costs will be spiking upwards immediately after the signature is on the the Senate Bill.
So, what are the chances in the next 10 years of a Single Payer System, like all the other developed countries in the world? You know a systems where people, as in Japan, pay on average one third of what we pay in the United States. There is little doubt that lots of people will perish because of the passage of this Republican plan to save Insurance Companies and Investment Bankers the Billions they so rightly deserve. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and Elections have consequences, especially when they are rigged.
Is there any chance that this new Republican Urban Renewal Bill will yield all the results they want….because lots of old people will be selling their homes, dying and passing on their worldly goods to family and friends……..in order to make our country Great Again?
Death Care 2017 – The Republican Alternative!
We need a solution that is not TrumpCare or LaraCare. I am thinking of doing RomneyCare , but as a state level system. It might be cheaper than LaraCare and more realistic.
*I’VE* been thinking, for years, of introducing what was once called a “robust public option” into our Califonia version of Obamacare… to compete with the for-profit insurers.
Of course now, that’s if we manage to not lose goddamned Obamacare.
Or to drive them out, which it would, leaving … single payer!
*Bernie has it right with this caveat: Let everyone join Medicare with a $5000 dollar maximum per year. They can use the coverage for Dental work, prescription drugs,
cyropractic work, acupressure, acupuncture or anything else they want. If they want
greater coverage they would have to buy elements, payable in increments of $10,000
dollars additional per year. There would be no maximums. Buy whatever they need
at a National Rate. No age or pre-existing conditions nonsense. There would be five
Regional Providers for the entire country…..all transferable when someone moves to another state or area of the country.
No more Drug Advertisements on TV. World/Global Competitive Pricing for all drugs
not made in the United States. Not just packaged here either to qualify…..they have to formulated, created and packaged right here in the USA to charge the ultimate prices they want. OK Big Pharma, Big Medical, FDA and NIH….time to step up to the plate.
*One last rip off we need ot avoid: Fast Track Approval for Generic Drugs. All these Nightmares do not put the necessary Buffers in the Meds and require four to five other drugs to mitigate the effects. These Generics are also made by the major or one of their subsidiaries. The Grease is deep. Piling money into every electeds pocket before the next election campaign coffer is even dry. What coverage do Electeds have? How much do they pay annually for themselves and their families. Heck, now they even want a stipend of $2500 a month for Rental or Mortgage Assistance Payments in D.C. YEEEP!
