OC Weekly reports that Westminster City Councilman Andy Quach spent last night in jail due to another DUI.
Andy was elected in 2006 and 2010, but did not run this time, so he was already exiting the Westminster City Council. He’s already pleaded guilty to a previous DUI, so I think we can safely assume that Andy is one Republican who will not be using north Orange County as a launching pad for higher office. Or any other elected office.
He didnt run this year. I think the previous DUI might not have had a effect but more his connection to the loan sharking cop in westminster. The 2nd DUI will have an effect because its a second offense and without it the public would have forgotten about the 1st dui and the loan sharking cop.
He’s been like a ghost his past term; never says anything on the dais, shows up to practically nothing. It’s hard to picture how much
moreless of a has-been Andy could be.Blast from the past, when he seemed like the smartest guy up there (and this was AFTER his first DUI):

Tyler: Westminster is not North Orange County and if drunk driving was a determinant of political involvement your colleague Vern would be a outcast for life.
Vern isn’t a public official and, I’m guessing, is not likely to become one, “jj.” That’s the difference.
You’re right about it not being North Orange County, though. Tyler, how could you?
And meanwhile Sharon Quirk-Silva refers to us as “South County.” We need to make some rules about this for everybody.
I doubt this second DUI of Andy’s was as spectacular as the first though! A life-threatening .27 blood alcohol level; a knocking out the power to half of Westminster by banging into a pole; and the unforgettable scene of his mentor Van Tran running around trying to shoo off the cops! Good times 2009!
How does this look?
North OC: Yorba Linda, Placentia, Brea, Fullerton, La Palma, La Habra, Buena Park
Central OC: Anaheim, Orange Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Tustin, Westminster
Southern OC: Irvine and everything else south toward the county line
Beach OC: Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach
West OC: Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Stanton, Los Al, Cypress
Just not sure where Villa Park would fit, they would not put up with being labeled Central OC.
and Newport wants nothing to do with Huntington beach
