“Sign Your Anger on the Dotted Line.”
So says one of those gathered tonight, bewildered and outraged at the news that officers on trial in the death of Kelly Thomas have been found not guilty, and now, that charges against another have been dropped.
Dozens have lined up to sign their names and write messages in a book for the family of Kelly Thomas, beaten in the street until he pleaded for his life and called for his father to help him, until his life was taken by the madness of others.
News vans are here to record the reactions of people trying to make sense of the jury’s decision. “I just feel they this is going to enable them to be worse, ” said one, referring to the police. And who can argue with her? What training is a more powerful message to police officers than this verdict?
People are here to share their thoughts, and ultimately, their humanity with one another, because it is now the only defense against brutality in a place where those charged to protect us can instead kill us without being held responsible.
The DA douled down and not only authorized prosecution of the officers, but took the case himself personally to lead the charge. With Todd Spitzer reportedly coveting the DA job, and having promoted himself as Mr. Law enforcement including being supportive of officers and more laws to empower law enforcement (witheess the recent Social Host Ordinace efforrt), this verdict would seem to present an opportunity for Spitzer to take on the DA, labeling him no friend of peace officers, in the next election and not wait, rallying law enforcement and their unions to endorse him. Golden opportunity to unseat an incumbant DA?.
And we will continue to verbally rip the reputations of this DA, future DA’s, the police, police unions a new asshole at city council podiums and other venues coming soon.
And if idiot Spitzer thinks he’s going to waltz into Orange County CA performing fellatio on this police community (thereby perpetuating the criminal fraud) well bienvenido. Hope you enjoy your stay
Well, Matt, what are we going to do about it?
Re-double efforts in Fullerton and Anaheim both for citizens review. I don’t know what happened with the jury, but there should be enough public and political revulsion to this verdict to move things forward.
Remember how the Fullerton police chief fawned over the “Office of Independent Review” at a city council meeting. These alleged “layers of oversight” are an obsolute failure.
And an absolute failure as well 😉
This verdict is an outrage.
Killer cops go feee, thanks to an incompetent OC jury. Maybe now, the next bunch of recruits for the Fullerton police department should include, OJ, Robert Blake, and George Zimmerman. They all got away with murder too!
I do hope that these cops end up totally broke and commit suicide. They are the ultimate scum. Worse than George Zimmerman, OJ, Robert Blake, and Kim Kardashian combined. What I would love to do to one oof these guys if i were in a padded cell with them. OH well! Civil suit is coming and these psychotics will lose.
