Look at the photo, then answer the poll in the comments with the appropriate letter. You can leave an explanation for your guess if you’d like — unless you know the answer. No fair looking anything up.
An answer will be forthcoming in a comment. After that: this is your Weekend Open Thread. Talk about anything you want within reasonable bounds.
Question: who is depicted in the photo at right?
(A) Adobe’s new spokesperson for its Photoshop X ads, introduced to the public at the Consumer Electronics Show currently take place in Las Vegas.
(B) The person apparently favored by at least one Supervisor to become the next Orange County Clerk-Recorder.
(C) The man whom pre-election polls say is current third-place candidate for President of the Czech Republic.
(D) Manny Pacquio’s personal physician in Manila.
(E) The actor who will play James Bond supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the recently announced 2015 remake of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
(F) The co-star of Off-Broadway’s new smash musical It Came from the Sea, set in and around the San Onofre nuclear reactor after a Fukushima style earthquake/tsunami disaster.
(G) Former The Partridge Family star and later shock jock Danny Bonaduce, wearing what may or may not be make-up for what may or may not be a discernible reason.
(H) The flood-damaged wax figure of mid-20th century British-American actor David Niven, which had been missing since 1993 from Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum in London, discovered this week in a barn near the small market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, England, previously best known as the home of John Entwistle, the now-deceased bassist for The Who.
(I) Both F and G.
(J) All of E, F, and G.
Kind of looks like an oil stain on water.
An oil stain in a suit, holding a mug, apparently. With eyes.
I think it really is Danny Bonaduce!
It took me a long time to come up with that plausible alternative!
1) Greg, after Ltpar and Vern beat him up on the Irvine Great Park, and being told that “you are getting to be as bad at twisting words as “Dan the Spin Man” at the OC Liberal.
2) Greg reminding Vern about: “the big organic farming enterprise that you and I learned about while at Occupy Irvine (you were there for that, right?
3) Winship testifying at the Biden’s gun safety committee.
4) Stanley/From the Exile after learning that a militia, Movimiento 26 de Julio had overthrown Batista.
5) Vern or Greg, concerned about Huell ‘s sexual orientation, and getting a response from anon: But then, so what?
6) Greg’s friend, Moxley, after his OC cover story on the GOP was featured in a radio program:“Orange County Republicans: the doomsday scenario. The white-hot heart of the GOP outside the South is Orange County, California; and yet it was in Orange County that Republicans lost the key state assembly seat that gave Democrats a supermajority in Sacramento. GUSTAVO ARELLANO will explain — he’s editor-in-chief of the OC Weekly, where Scott Moxley’s cover story on the GOP appears this week.”
You need to review the instructions next time, Dora!
It looks like he just pulled his head out of his ass.
Or he’s the guy from the Folger’s commercial.
Any reasonably aware person should know the Bohemian Vladimír Franz.
Dora at #4 should get price since she recognized in him my Bohemian facial features when I was about 13 years younger.
However, I am perplex why are you lurking into the Bohemian intellectual society since you are so stupid that you do not even know the Golem of the Prague.
Just stick to your crapola so the “demagog” and “onan” can understand.
Franz is way above the heads of this blog.
Stanley wins! And loses, of course, but also wins!
Vlad had a face that only a chellist could love……right? Bow in and bowing out.
“Franz is way above the heads of this blog.”

i know that guy,,,he opened for jack white three years ago at cochella
The answer is “C”. Stanley — who cheated by coming from the same country — correctly identifies him above. You can read more about him at this link, which also answers Stanley’s question as to how I know about him.
As one faithful reader noted in an e-mail, the identity of Vladimir Franz, a Czech opera composer and painter and now possible Presidential kingmaker, was also revealed in the URL for the photo — so thanks to everyone else for not noticing (or at least publicly mentioning) that.
No early tax refunds this year.
IRS Plans Jan. 30 Tax Season Opening For 1040 Filers
IR-2013-2, Jan. 8, 2013
WASHINGTON — Following the January tax law changes made by Congress under the American Taxpayer Relief Act (ATRA), the Internal Revenue Service announced today it plans to open the 2013 filing season and begin processing individual income tax returns on Jan. 30.
This is one way to cut the monthly defict, in the past the start date was 15th, this year 2013 it was pushed to the 22nd and now the 30th. I think they may push it even more, as some returns
“The IRS estimates that remaining households will be able to start filing in late February or into March because of the need for more extensive form and processing systems changes”
Another untimely death: “ Open democracy advocate and internet pioneer Aaron Swartz was found dead Friday in an apparent suicide, flooding the digital spectrum with an outpouring of grief. He was 26 years old… Swartz wrote the programming for RSS 1.0, an extremely common and useful computer tool. He helped start Reddit and also helped launch Creative Commons — a special intellectual property license allowing anyone to use creative work, provided it is not sold for profit.”

This is another precursor for a civil war. In 1968 Prague spring uprising it was 21 years old Jan Palach followed Jan Zajíc, a Evžen Plocek.
And what the owners of the blogs do…… ruthless oppression of the truth, promoting communism which historically failed as the above died against it. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Palach
Stanley, do you really think that the rest of us should be unconcerned about your owning firearms?
“your owning firearms”…….. Hmmmmmm
I do no have or had any firearms and I never believe hawing one. Even as the CSSR Air Force Officer, who could carry concealed gun, a have elected not to carry one because in my early age, I found my fist more persuasive.
However, I believe in the constitution and because I have been sworn to uphold it during my naturalization, I will defend the constitution mainly the 1st and 2nd which are essential to maintain free state and my unalienable rights which leftists want to alienate from me.
If you would have some minimal IQ, you would ask your self the question: Would 6,000,000 Jews die if the Third Reich constitution provide the 2nd amendment?
FYI, the Jewish Holocaust is not only one which happen in the human history. About 10 years earlier Russians massacred 7,000,000 Ukrainians. Hitler also killed 10,000,000 Slavic people and prior to that it was very bloody for thousands of years and will be bloody soon here.
Same like middle east USA will have inevitable its own Spring.
Neither would happen if everyone would maintain the assault weapon at their home as it is done mandatory in the Switzerland. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland
To my knowledge no one massacred any Swiss national. There is a lesson to learn.
I do not expect you to understand that, however.
Here is my of January 7, 2013 oral argument before council re Pulido’s crapola declaring 2nd to be hunting permit. http://www.ci.santa-ana.ca.us/coc/video/cc_20130107.mov Scroll to public comments and I am about #5.
“Neither would happen if everyone would maintain the assault weapon at their home as it is done mandatory in the Switzerland.”
“To my knowledge no one massacred any Swiss national.”
You need more knowledge…it is not mandatory for everyone to maintain an assault weapon in their home.
They also have mass murders.
From the Economist and the WSWS:
Just after 10am on September 28, 2001,Friedrich Leibacher made his way into the parliament building of the Swiss canton of Zug and unleashed a bloodbath. In total, 14 people were shot dead. Three of the seven members of the local Zug government were killed, and another was seriously wounded. Eleven of the 80 members of the canton council were shot dead and numerous others wounded. Two journalists were also badly injured. His weapon was a combat rifle.
On the same morning as Leibacher terrorised the Zug canton council, a 49-year-old Swiss man in nearby Lucerne shot his 23-year-old stepson with a combat rifle and then turned the weapon on himself.
In some cantons, officials have admitted that incidents involving army rifles are kept quiet, at times in tacit agreement with the local press, so that others do not get similar murderous or suicidal ideas.
March 6, 1992 | Associated Press
A gunman stalked through three villages in southern Switzerland, shooting residents as they answered the doorbell. Six people were killed in one of the worst mass murders in Swiss history. Toting a semiautomatic rifle, the 37-year-old gunman burst in on one family as it was having dinner and shot other victims on their doorsteps during the two-hour spree Wednesday, police said.
“You need more knowledge…it is not mandatory for everyone to maintain an assault weapon in their home”…….. Hmmmmmmm
You are wrong by splitting beans!
Reiterating, to my knowledge no one massacred any Swiss national, entire villages and cities as was done routinely in Europe.
The dates speak for themselves one nutcase in 2001 and one in 1992.
You are simply refusing to pay any price for your freedom and will never learn from much smarter people than you are:
“The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.” -Thomas Jefferson
“Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one” – Benjamin Franklin
There is an ample of wisdom in the intellect out there, but it requires the intelligence to utilize it.
I wonder why are you an American if you are willing to destroy your own constitution which was tested by the time and history – have you ever take the oath?
You said that everyone has to maintain an assault weapon in their home.
That is absolutely false.
You said that there was no one massacred in Switzerland. Also false. It happens, granted rarely, but it does.
Also, we don’t really know how often the Swiss use their military weapons to kill their neighbors. Their press doesn’t report those stories to cut down on copy cats, which the press here loves to do. The nut jobs here like to go out in a blaze of glory, and the press here is more than happy to provide them with the “glory.”
I also want to point out that in the Second Amendment there is the word “regulated.” I think that means that there are some rules as to who gets to have a gun, and what kind. Just like in the Switzerland.
You diminish your own arguments when you put “crappola” in your comments.
Obviously, I was hoping for some minimal IQ between your ears, I have failed and that I regret.
Damn it — have I been approving these comments of Stanley’s? I thought that I was supposed to be repressing him.
Ever notice how when Stanley is losing a debate, he just accuses the other person of being dumb?
So who’s REALLY the dummy?
No answers, just insults.
Maybe you should stick to trying to convince people with your fist, because your intellect isn’t getting the job done.
The Demagog and Onan the good position.
Can somebody translate this for me ?
Your position in the Organization of North American Nations is good.

According to the Huffington Post:
” Swartz, 26, was widely praised for his efforts to make information freely available online. Frustrated by the high cost of accessing scholarly journals, Swartz allegedly stole millions of academic articles from the nonprofit online database JSTOR by breaking into computer networks at M.I.T., prosecutors said. A reporter for The New York Times called him “a wizardly programmer” and an “Internet folk hero.” The Wall Street Journal said his alleged theft of academic journals was considered “a Robin Hood-like stunt.”
But the move got him into legal trouble. In July 2011, he was charged with multiple counts of wire fraud and computer fraud.
Swartz also suffered from depression, and the details of why he committed suicide remain unclear. But his supporters say his looming federal trial in April was a contributing factor. Over the weekend, his family attributed his death to federal prosecutors pursuing “an exceptionally harsh array of charges, carrying potentially over 30 years in prison, to punish an alleged crime that had no victims.”
Stanley, the death of Aaron it is not a precursor for a civil war.
It has opened a debate on a controversial law…” In a tribute to Swartz on Sunday, MSNBC host Chris Hayes said: “You should know his death is a good reason to revisit the 1986 Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the law under which he was prosecuted, since it is far too broad.”
We need a serious story about this, Ricardo. Feel up to it?
I will work on it this evening. On another note, I read that Heny Vendermier was elected chairman of the OCDP. I am looking forward for your update on this election.
I’m looking forward to it also, because that means I will have finished writing it!
