Here’s a problem with people constantly calling President Obama, pretty implausibly, a “dictator”: it pisses kerosene and craps kindling right into the smoldering tinder of this guy’s brain. And so here’s what you get:
I’m pretty sure that I could get the Democratic Party Central Committee here, which includes people serious about gun rights, to reject these remarks. How about you, Orange County Republicans? And you, Libertarians? Think it might be time for a joint communique telling this guy that he’s not helping us?
One thing I’d like to see happen is for every National Guard soldier to certify that if they see someone who has said something like this “I will start killing people now if they try to take my guns” guy reaching for a gun in public, in a situation where he’s not obviously trying to defend the life of someone else against an unlawful attack — defined by the U.S. Courts, not by him — they are willing, without hesitation, to shoot him in the head. He has basically announced that he’s ready to murder people with little or no discrimination. That means he’s a clear and present danger.
Hate to be that way, but this is — if he has his way, at least — war. And giving into his twisted view of even limited and prudent gun control is, quite literally, giving into to terrorism.
Hat tip to Triple-B back on the mothership.
Update: The guy’s name turns out to be James Yeager. Oh, and look! Yeager made a second video to back away from his first video! Sort of. Well, actually, not much.
“If it goes one inch further, I’m gonna start killing people.”
Yeah, that’s worthy of condemnation. I’m in.
How about a lively debate over further/farther?
How about his desire to restrict everyone else’s first amendment right in the second video? That’s freakin’ hysterical.
Dude has a point about who founded the country. He completely misses the point that those people weren’t exactly fired up about shooting their neighbor. Find a comprehensive way to be part of the solution, buddy. Don’t choose to be part of the problem.
Its the second amendment, it is not just about people wanting to go hunting for some rabbit or deer or people doing marksmanship on clay pidgeons. It is also about self protection and also to stand up against the government when the government goes tyrannical.
But to be proper, there should be a just cause doctrine when utilizing that right responsibly should happen such as a government advocating for genocide of a population for being who they are. Blindly killing people is absolutely wrong. There must be a serious reason for that. The clause of the 2nd amendment is a serious clause, but its like using a nuclear weapon in warfare.
I do not want to be in the cross hairs of a population when they say LGBT people or non-white people can not have guns and then what happened in the Ukraine where the russians starved people to death or what happened to the Jews happens again. Preachers like Scott Lively want LGBT people dead and imagine if we all had guns, stuff like that would not likely happen because we could stand up against unjust policies such as people advocating for genocide.
Instead of killing people in a terrorist manner, maybe go Galt and earn less money so the government would function less.
Well said, sir! Which of the voices in your head came up with this?
A more substantive and specific critique madam (or fake madam), if you please?
So Matt, what do you think would have happened if this guy were black? I bet he would be sitting in jail for inciting a riot. Lets get real…gun nuts are afraid of people of color and think they are stealing their way of life. Its all about fear, racism, and stupidity. Oh and this guy makes his living selling fear…He sells guns and classes on survival.
Haha, this guy just got his handgun permit yanked. By the state of TENNESSEE. Loser.
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/state-suspends-handgun-carry-permit-of-tactical-response
“The state of Tennessee has suspended the handgun carry permit of James Yeager, CEO of Tactical Response, who recently said he would “start killing people” should President Obama take executive action on gun control.
“State officials explained they revoked the permit because of Yeager’s “material likelihood of risk of harm to the public,” according to a local TV station. Tactical Response is a Tennessee-based company that specializes in firearms and tactical training.
“”The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public’s safety,” wrote Commissioner Bill Gibbons. “Mr. Yeager’s comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention. Due to our concern, as well as that of law enforcement, his handgun permit was suspended immediately. We have notified Mr. Yeager about the suspension today via e-mail. He will receive an official notification of his suspension through the mail.”
“Yeager released a second video Thursday in which he refused to back down from most his statements.
“”I do not condone anybody committing any kind of felonies up to and including any aggravated assaults or murders, unless it’s necessary,” he said. “Right now it is not necessary.””
Actually I am glad this guy went on public airways and said what he did. He is said what many privately or at least those sitting behind a computer screen have been saying for years. The other reason gun owners gave about needing their weapon to protect themselves was hogwash, they really meant protecting themselves from the government. When Obama first was elected in 2008, I lived in Chico, California. Many individuals, especially gun toting yahoos freaked out that a black man became president. They were talking about him taking their guns away back then.
This guy has a Facebook page with over 10,000 Likes and I bet more to come. https://www.facebook.com/JamesYeagerofTacticalResponse
The survivalist sites are all a buzz about what he did…many taking his side. Does Tennessee know he sells firearms and offers survivalist training? They took away his permit…I doubt that will do nothing more than piss him off even more. Do we really believe a guy like this worries about a permit?
I don’t really see this guy shooting anyone…its my experience that those with the biggest mouths wimp out in the end…its the ones who agree with him and stay quiet about it until….they are the ones to watch out for.
All I can do is shake my head at your statement, wow…really out there buddy.
Well that is certainly a compelling rebuttal…give us all some time to think about the complexities of your position.
Seriously, what part of Inge’s statement is “out there”?
