Welcome to the first offering from our Orange Juice Oracle, the very first Political Astrology column in the nation’s entire blogosphere!
Although this is generally a local blog, the Oracle expressed a preference for prognosticating on national issues. And whatever the Oracle wants the Oracle gets.
Loath to contemplate five months of speculation on the Presidential Election, however, I decided to ask him instead what the stars say about a more immediately timely question: How will the Supreme Court rule on Obamacare – a decision that might come down as early as this (Monday) afternoon.
The Oracle accepted the challenge, but explained to me how complicated it would be to do the synergistic birth chart of all nine Justices. (My suggestion to just do swing-vote Justice Kennedy fell on deaf ears.) The Oracle instead opted to do the “birth chart of the Health Care Reform Bill, and the birth chart of the Supreme Court, and then compared the two.”
So … HEEEERE’S The Oracle!
*
The important thing to note astrologically about health care is that it is, at its core … a women’s issue.
The health care law’s chart (birth time of March 23, 2010 11:57 am, Washington DC) places the moon in Cancer (women) in a position of great prominence (which is conjuncting the ascendant.) The structure and foundation of the healthcare law (Saturn in the 4th in Libra) is ruled by Venus in Aries in the 11th house (the woman as warrior fighting for freedom and fairness.)
Now, the new law specifically addresses discrimination in the health insurance market in the form of cuts in maternity coverage, gender-related higher premiums, and denials in coverage for gender-related pre-existing conditions. Basically, being a woman is considered a pre-existing condition. Provisions in the new health care law are supposed to protect everyone, but they will especially benefit women who are starting from much further behind.
One of the most profound effects surrounding this law is its power to tap into primitive instincts in the games of love and war, between the masculine and feminine. This whole thing isn’t just about health care. It’s about resistance to the impending great universal shift in power from patriarchal to matriarchal influence, which is signified by the progression of the fixed star Regulus. After a 2000 year progression through the masculine sign of Leo, on November 28, 2011 Regulus progressed into the sign of Virgo.
This is a whole new ball game for humanity. The resistance will be fierce, but futile. We will become a more matriarchal society.
In the health care reform chart, Saturn in Libra (authority on justice) forms a very stressful aspect to Pluto in Capricorn (entrenched power.) Within the realm of healthcare, if the Supreme Court actions oppose the healthcare law, the inevitable response will be accusations of discrimination and injustice toward women, along with an exposure of the health care system’s hostilities and unfairness toward them. The pushback will be fierce, unforgiving, and somewhat surprising in its intensity. It will take everyone, but especially the Court, by surprise.
What is ironic is the ability of the health care law to threaten the Court. This law is a tremendous challenge to the Court’s prestige and sense of itself. In the healthcare chart, Saturn (authority and restriction) sits right on top of the Court’s Sun (vitality and self-concept). The Court’s dealings with the health care law presents a great threat to its sense of itself, as a thriving institution.
So, what can we expect from the Supremes? If the decision is lacking in substance, or somewhat incoherent, it will be brutally criticized. Among so many factors to be considered astrologically, here are a few of the most interesting:
- The Supreme’s Saturn in Pisces (authority, ability to restrict through withholding), falls directly over the HC’s Jupiter in Pisces (expansive, all-inclusive, non-specific.) It is likely that the court will seek to restrict what they find to be the law’s overreach and non-specificity (most likely the mandate.) Because the court’s Saturn also falls on the healthcare law’s Midheaven (what it is trying to accomplish), it is likely that the Supremes see the bill’s outcome (healthcare for all and regulation of insurance), as undesirable. What they will legislate from the bench remains to be seen, but they are balancing their intentions against their image.
- Also, this Court is concerned with defending traditional cultural values, and a woman’s place within those values (Mars in Cancer.) It seeks to control the freedoms of individuals (corporations according to them are also individuals), and avoid revolt, particularly in the area of finance (Pluto in Aquarius in the 2nd house). A major configuration this week involving the transiting Saturn falling directly over the Supremes’ Neptune (illusion, compassion) and Mercury (decisions, communication), most likely indicates that all previous illusions surrounding the court will be declared null and void, and that the Court will be held accountable for any ambiguity, or lack of compassion surrounding their decision.
- Because Eris, a minor planet, also plays a part in the planetary configuration surrounding their final decision, it is most likely that at least one justice will fiercely oppose it. Now you can fill in who that might be, as this is just an analysis of the Court on the whole, not the individual players. The impending revelation of their decision is sure to get tongues wagging!
I think that they’ll overturn the whole thing based on the grounds that (1) the Commerce Clause does not allow people to be dragged into a market against their will and (2) if the mandate is unconstitutional, it cannot be severed from the rest of the statute.
The opinion will shock many who have to deal with its consequences, but it will make sense to readers (especially the last part about severability, which the Obama Administration itself (wrongly) said was not possible. It will, however, be wrong, because despite the Obama Administration swearing up and down that the mandate is not a tax, it IS a tax that can be satisfied in multiple ways (including already being insured) and the Court should approve it as a tax (because Obama and his team doesn’t have the final word as to whether it is) and not even reach the Commerce Clause question.
That’s what should happen. What will happen, I expect, is a wholesale slaughter of PPACA.
*The United States is a Cancer country. Home, Hearth, Mom, Dad and Apple Pie. Thanksgiving and a time of reunion with family and friends. Yes Virginia, most Americans do believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny.
Having said that – Corporation “The Citizens United Decision” by the Supreme Court has changed those values. Today, Jamie Dimond and Morgan Stanley Chase are now considered “Family”…along with thousands of non-identiity corporations which are strewn from here to the Cayman Islands and around the world to China and Malaysia.
What does this all mean? “We are family…..you mother and your sister and me!” said a group of the 70’s! Of course that was when Richard Nixon was President and who could actually believe that when Henry Kissenger looks into the camera and says: We will find peace in Vietnam – in Paris!” Well, after “Rolling Thunder” maybe!
The truth is that Universal Healthcare is going to happen sooner or later. If the Supreme Court chooses to be cowardly during the Mars in Cancer aspect….it may take a couple more years. If they choose the high road of thinking that “The Family” is the most important – Not necessarily the Mafia mind you……well, it will be a close decision and ObamaCare or a variation will remain. Usually, certain elements of any controversial law are thrown out ….just to keep the delay status going.
Our belief is that in a 5-4 decision ObamaCare will be sustained.
Jamie DIMON, please, not DIMOND, and certainly not DIAMOND. My family has enough trouble having the same surname as Dustin.
So here’s the score…
Diamond pitching for the liberals, sees Obamacare sent to the dugout.
Team Winships batting for the conservatives, is taking the bunt and going for PPACA being upheld.
And the OJ Oracle is playing girls softball, hitting it right down the middle….
What is it? Backwards Day?
*Groundhog Month?
The decision is supposed to come on Thursday. The Sun will be in Cancer, The Transiting Mars in Virgo and the Transiting Pluto in Capricorn. The moom will be in either Gemini or Cancer. If the decision comes late our prognostication will probably
be correct.
With the two nasty planets in Earth Signs and the Sun in Cancer…..a Water Sign..
there is every chance that the decision will be muddied up with complications and pragmatic answers. Some of the ObamaCare will stand….there is little doubt.
Actually the transiting moon will be in Libra if the decision comes early, and Scorpio if it’s late.
It’s interesting to look at Obama’s chart on that day. Transiting Jupiter and Venus will be sitting right on top of Obama’s natal moon. That translates to an expansive, optimistic mood for Obama.
It’s hard to imagine the law overturned in any significant way resulting in that kind of emotional response from him…unless there’s there’s more than meets the eye.
Uranus trines his Leo Sun in the 6th house of health…thats unexpected good news.
Progressed Moon also trining the sun offers some support for his ego making it hard to imagine complete defeat.
But transiting Pluto Capricorn…(undermining and restricting) at the same time makes very stressful aspects to his progressed moon and transiting Saturn (defeat) makes a very stressful aspect to his natal Saturn (accomplishments), and Obama’s solar arc moon…so the picture remains mixed.
One more thing…Obamas solar arc sun falls at 1 degree of Libra, the same degree within minutes of the sun in the Supreme’s chart. In trying to protect their own ego and sense of themselves as they decide the fate of the HC law, the Supremes might have inadvertently protected Obama.
The Winships might want to get their astrolabe recalibrated.
Yeah, Winships! Recalibrate that old rusty thing. Or get a new one. Sheee-it…
The love that picture! The gowns with their “sponsorship” tags really makes the impression of how the filters are set in the brains of the justices.
*Hopefully the OC Oracle doesn’t actually charge for advice. Talking out of both sides of one’s mouth is typical of those who “get money for astrological advice”.
Either Obama will be happy or sad….right? Which one? We say happy…partially.
Which means exactly what we said: Certain provisions will be overturned, but the
base will be retained.
Earth to Spaceship Winship.

You changed your original statement to parrot my analysis, which is flattering.
Be so kind as to explain my inconsistencies.
OJ Oracle…..no, you sound more like a Canary in a Coal Mine…..faking it.
Let’s get redundant…….ObamaCare will survive with 2 to 4 areas removed.
It will be a 5-4 Decision….
America will survive the Sun Spots and the Transit of Venus……by making the
new philosophy of “helping our fellow man”. Bain Capital will fail in three years!
Want more? Sorry Charlie…….Starkissed Tuna doesn’t pay anymore!
SHoulda known you guys would end up fighting … about astrology.
It was in the stars….
We all got a part of this right.
Mr Diamond, your prediction: ” What will happen, I expect, is a wholesale slaughter of PPACA.”
You were accurate in your assessment that the Court would find the individual mandate unconstitutional, but there were many signs pointing to the Bill being upheld overall. Roberts certainly found a way by calling that aspect of the legislation a tax.
You might want to investigate the value of astrology when analyzing political issues. It is outside of the mainstream belief system, and often ridiculed by those that don’t understand it’s uses. Astrology is the oldest study of the human condition that we have, but was and is attacked relentlessly by Christian based religions attempting to increase their market share. It’s a cultural bias that astrologers are trying to overcome in the US, but astrology can be a helpful thing to have in your toolbox.
The Winships: “It will be a 5-4 Decision.”
Right on the money!
“Certain provisions will be overturned.” Final analysis isn’t in, but nothing that I’ve heard suggests this part of their prediction is correct.
Myself. ” Transiting Jupiter and Venus will be sitting right on top of Obama’s natal moon. That translates to an expansive, optimistic mood for Obama.
It’s hard to imagine the law overturned in any significant way resulting in that kind of emotional response from him.”
Obama looked pretty darn happy today after hearing the news (not CNN’s version).
But, I also in my original assessment, I wrote ” It is likely that the court will seek to restrict what they find to be the law’s overreach and non-specificity (most likely the mandate),” and that was wrong, as Roberts redefined what the mandate will now be referred to…a tax.
I don’t think that anyone predicted that Roberts would be the deciding Justice in this historic decision.
All in all, the Oracle Of the Orange Juice – considered as a confluence of OJO, Winships, and the skeptical Diamond, NAILED it.
I’ll stick to chicken entrails, thanks.
Just apply a light coating of cooking oil, and you won’t have that problem.
LOL
Dammit, that was going to be my comeback! Our commenters are too witty.
The health care law may have been upheld, but the law itself ensures mixed results.
What the law does right: (according to National Nurses United)
Expanded Medicaid coverage for the most low income
Increased funding for community health centers
Children can stay on parents plans up to age 26
Some restraints on insurance abuses, lifetime caps and denials based on pre-existing conditions
What the law does wrong:
27 million people will still have no health coverage
No real limits on what insurance companies, hospitals, and drug companies can charge – or on insurers denying treatment or referrals they don’t want to pay for
Expands the private insurance system by forcing the uninsured to buy private insurance – uses taxpayer funded subsidies to increase private insurance profits
Promotes wasteful hospital spending on IT systems
How the patient care crisis will continue:
Employers will continue to drop coverage and shift more costs to employees
Insurance costs will continue to skyrocket – up to half of household income by 2018, including out of pocket costs
More families will face bankruptcy from high medical bills – or choose to skip or delay needed care
Private insurance system will be strengthened with more incentive than ever to make decisions on coverage and care based on profits, not patient need
States can still opt out of Medicaid expansion under the court ruling
The democratic party and Barack Obama surrendered before the war started by failing to insist on a public option. Astrologically speaking 10 months ago Obama’s progressed moon moved into Aries the sign of the courageous warrior, the same week thousands of Occupiers protested in NYC. Maybe that was a wake up call for him. His progressed moon will remain in the sign of the warrior for the next 19 months. Let’s hope he’s more of a fighter at least for the first 15 months of his 2nd term than he’s been so far.
Amen to your last sentence.
*Doesn’t anyone listen to what is upheld and what wasn’t? Mine Gott en Himmel…..
2 provisions of the State Mandate to expand Medicaid was overturned. It is now
up to the individual states to either add folks or not. The States which are Bucks Up
will probably expand…the other 26 will not. But then again, that might change based
on how those states that do adopt the Expanded Medicaid Concept…..can make that
stuff look good or not.
