If you live in the 70th AD and don’t feel like spending your Saturday watching weeds grow at Boss Agran’s Not So Great Park or putting another coat of beige paint on the exterior of your house, then our distinguished State Rep. Spanky Wagner has a deal for you….
It’s Coffee Talk with Spanky! Grab a cup of coffee and hear what fun things he has in store for the 70th AD. While you are there, don’t forget to ask him about his vote against abolishing redevelopment agencies.
Maybe I’ll call Chuck DeVore and see if we can get some answers from Spanky on his vote to keep the redevelopment agencies.
And now….HERE’S SPANKY!!!!!

Republicans like Wagner support the corruption of redevelopment because their local government supporters stole that money fair and square and it supports all their little pet projects, like creating fake downtowns and subsidizing big box retailers and auto malls.
And if you’re going, ask him why he was one of a handful of legislators voting against disincorporating the incredibly corrupt Vernon City government.
Quimby beat me to it – Irvine residents should certainly pepper him with questions about why he supports redevelopment, until his face looks like Cheney’s friend Whittington. If he’d had the courage to join Chris Norby he could have been the deciding vote to end this waste and corruption.
And also ask him, as he was the head of the “Taxpayers Caucus”, why he doesn’t trust us voters and taxpayers to have a voice on whether or not we choose to extend our taxes a few years to avoid further cuts to education and public safety. He won’t even let us have a say. Why is he so afraid of democracy? I thought the Republicans’ line was that taxes shouldn’t be raised against the will of the people, why is he afraid of the will of the people?
I’ll have to see if his restraining order against me has expired.
Maybe I’ll call Mike Binkley, the 2010 Libertarian Party nominee for Congress, instead. He knows how to grill Spanky real good on issues such as redevelopment and prison reform. Chuck might talk everyone’s ears off and forget that he’s no longer our State Rep.
…”why is (Spanky) afraid of the will of the people?”
Because those who show dissent weren’t spanked enough as kids.
I’m sure Grand Emporer Bren had a lot to do with his redevelopment agency vote. Might have been promised a break on the land lease for some of his fundamentalist Christian friends/campaign contributors who want to build a megachurch on the grounds of the Not So Great Park. After all, MasterPlannedistan needs another megachurch as much as they need another retail mall with narrow parking spots and shrubbery near the handicap parking spaces.
There’s sure to be lots of prayin’ and speechfyin’ about the great lord God and how He needs lots of money, so count on some “faith based” crapola coming your way.
That’s part of the Irvine Co. redevelopment scam..I mean scheme…. at the Not So Great Park. Tax dollars going to finance the creation of Spanky’s new megachurch. I’m sure the faux liberal known as the Northwood Night Stalker will look the other way because the Irvine Public Schools Foundation, a subsidiary of the Irvine Company, does so much for Irvine schools. Or so he tells us since most of the monies goes to his kids’ school at Canyon View.
We’ve got a Saddleback Church satelite location, Free Chapel and Mariners in MasterPlannedistan already. And don’t forget the folks at Concordia University-Irvine who were more than gracious hosts for that tolerant group Exodus International last summer.
I also have plans and ideas for the Not So Great Park that will create jobs and generate revenue for MasterPlannedistan. But since I seemed to have pissed off Spanky at the 70th AD debate at UCI last fall, I think he’ll send his Lincoln Club goons after me: Alfalfa, Darla and Froggy.
So, did anybody go to this? Did any spanking occur?
