“Hosni Mubarak Posts Topless Photo on Craigslist”
Photo Cred: Lalo Alcaraz
UPDATE: The title bears changing given this history that has been made today! (Friday)
The dictator kept his people waiting. The rumors that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak would step down today – the 17th day of anti-government protests – filled Tahrir Square with anticipatory hope. Then he addressed the nation in patronizing tones. Hope transformed into palpable anger. Who knows what comes next. Given these recent developments, a second protest in solidarity with the people of Egypt is being called for by organizers to take place in the city of Anaheim this weekend.
Time: Saturday, February 12 · 12:00pm – 4:30pm
Location: Little Arabia , Brookhurst and Orange in Anahiem 512 S. Brookhurst St. Anaheim, CA 92804
This time I’ll be there for SURE. Let’s keep in touch, Gabo, we’ll hook up. Roqaya, you gonna be there?
Anti Mubarak … fine.
Pro ….. what??
Democracy, Junior. Democracy and freedom.
This should be an easy one. You could join us!
will be there.
Something occurred to me yesterday. Why is the U.S. Gov. so passive about this? It’s not just the devil you know is better than the one you don’t know scenario. Maybe it’s because Mubarak might say, what are you bitches complaining about, you paid me to torture captives in your rendition programs. Shut up hypocrites.
There was that. And there was also the reluctance to show other “allies” around the world that we are so quick to toss an “ally” overboard.
But those cynical aspects aside, I think Obama handled it just right, keeping his distance but encouraging the people and privately urging Mubarak to step aside. I’m glad that this revolution can’t be perceived as being orchestrated by us in any way. We’ve been meddling in that region far too long. (Since overthrowing Iran’s Mossadegh in ’53.)
BREAKING NEWS – HOSNI MUBARAK HAS STEPPED DOWN AND TURNED POWER TO ARMY’S SUPREME COUNCIL ACCORDING TO VP.
WHOA! Serio? If this is true, it deserves its own post, and tomorrow will be a celebration in Little Arabia!
I mean… I THINK I trust that military (?) a lot more than the dictator and Octoman.
Yes, a celebration! The revolution continues! Out with “Octoman!” haha
The Octomom you know. Is better than the Octomom you don’t know. Pray for Egypt!
Is allan mansoor going to be a key note speaker?
He’s probably holding out for Sweden to be free from socialism.
Congrats on nothing Egypt, you simply changed from the sword to the pen, replacing a dictator with a corporate globalist US puppet, Mohamed ElBaradei. Your so-called uprising was no more than a orchestrated movemment by corporate elite to control Egypt for their own good and profit. Western culture will now be pumped into Egypt, destoying your own culture as you drink Starbucks and shop at H&M.
It is hard to believe that the change these globalists want to see is anything less than a generation that drinks more Pepsi, buys more consumerist junk, and believes the United States government every time they purvey their lies to us via their corporate owned media.
The real revolution will not be televised.
