I gotta rub it in the face of Red County – aka. Meg County Blog, they look like a bunch of Idiots as opposed to just being simple Charlatans right now.
They sell out for cash then stab Meg in the back by supporting Nutbag for Lt. Governor over Abel Maldonado – Meg’s choice. But, at least Matt Cunningham and Chip Hanlon were compensated well for their political prostitution.
Mr. Jerbal and his friends from Orange County can post all their blogs and take all the shots at us (at the OJ) that they want, but the exposure will never end. They are frauds. Allan Bartlett found it out, just like I did – if you tell them the truth, they mess you over.
Does the above sound harsh? Meg Whitman is a Democrat – her positions on issues were quite similar to those of Jerry Brown so people voted for the real thing. Do not call yourself a Conservative leader while you hitch your wagon to that, end of story… otherwise, you’re a sellout.
Once the Primary was over – I gave tepid support to Whitman as the nominee of the GOP, but that was it. I jumped in and supported Abel Maldonado – because he won the primary fair and square only to have someone use him for a cheap fundraising stunt.
There have been a ton of recriminations over the elections results. I can tell you in the state party the immediate cosequences will be that the old leadership will be targeted at the next convention.
Guy Houston – Meg’s hand-picked puppet for Chairman is a goner… I wonder if he even answers the bell?
Jeff Flint – best known as one of the consultants that got Prop 8 passed despite the Obamunism tsunami – lit Arnold, Meg and the whole lot of them up in a post on the FlashReport. I am leaving an excerpt here:
Republicans! The Party of Lower Taxes! Not under Arnold Schwarzenegger, who raised taxes and fees by billions and sought to undermine the two-thirds vote for tax increases.
Republicans! The Party that will End Deficit Spending! Not under Arnold Schwarzenegger, who repeatedly has papered over deficit spending in a manner that made Gray Davis’ budget shenanigans look amateur in comparison.
Republicans! The Party of Economic Growth, Jobs, and Fewer Regulations! Not under Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose AB 32 monstrosity will confine California to lower growth and under-performing job creation for decades to come.
Am I putting too much of the blame for California’s failure to follow the rest of the nation in moving decisively to the right on Schwarzenegger? I don’t think so. Because there is clear evidence that it is the California Republican brand, as defined by Schwarzenegger, that suffered this past Tuesday, not conservatism.
A new website has popped up – it is called the worst campaign in history and it rips the lack of principle and the incompetence of the $170 million debacule.
The GOP got it’s ass kicked in California because of Arnold and Arnold in a skirt – Arnold was rejected, not Republicans.

HAHA i love the website. great post
Sgt. York,
Man are you “spot on” (as they say across the pond) about this!
But, I think you give way too much credit to Chip and Matt, clearly it’s all about Money for these guys. Cunningham has demonstrated time and time again that he is willing to change positions in favor of the almighty buck.
Don’t get me wrong, thats OK, but you lose the right to discuss with any integrity on party platform lines. If there was no CLEARER demonstration of “broadcast politics” it is the AD SHARING between Red County and The Liberal OC on total buzz. Whether conicidential or based on economy, the irony of two hollow politico’s willing to bend over (or ask they’re wives too!) for a quick $1,234.86 in ad revenue says it all.
Meg was destined to fail. They were too greedy or too stupid to see that. I’ll leave it to others to decide which.
“Ken” –
As a longtime CRA activist – it is extremely frustrating to see sell-outs. Seeing Kevin McCarthy, Darrell Issa and others ran one RINO after another down our throats is infuriating.
You see – people like Calvert, John Campbell, Dreier et al go back to their relatively safe districts after they screw things up for the rest of us.
I fear for California – but at the same time, maybe the pain will get so bad that McCarthy et al are held accountable for what they have done to the GOP brand.
As to Hanlon / Cunningham – they are the worst form of political slime. Don’t lecture about blog ethics, take $110k then get indignant when exposed. Don’t campaign against a prop and then profit from its’ passage – that is called double-dealing.
And while I can not prove this – there are other bloggers in Southern California that routinely are paid through back channels to advocate for candidates and causes. In a few races in my neck of the woods – I have seen the attempted reach of them.
In one case on the same side I took, and in the other, not.
I could go on and on – Karen England running for Lt Gov talking about what a great activist she was – until people started looking at reports seeing the payola.
People expect Democrats to be purchased by big labor, the teachers, eco-nazis, the no on 8 crowd and the like – but they don’t campaign on ethics and morals.
When Republicans pull that s–t it causes widespread damage to the Republican Party – but again, Chip, Jerbal, Karen England, et. al. don’t give a rip as long as the checks cash… (and point the self-righteous finger at others who are paid as well)
Sgt. York,
Don’t forget, Matthew Cunningham has a long history of selling out.
- He claims to have been a staffer on another Millionare’s campaign, Mike Huffington, Who was known by nearly everyone to be gay (before he admitted being “bisexual” and finally fully homosexual), yet Matt happily answered phones and hung signs as a low level staffer in hopes of landing a job. FAST FORWARD – He and his wife lead the charge against Gay Marrige in California. So it’s OK to get paid by GAY canidates, if outwardly you hate them!
-The whole Children and Families commission thing. If not for Bush and the fine citizens at FFFF, this would have gone on unotticed. Lost in that whole debacle was that his “responsibility” diatribe, meanwhile running a bunk business out of his house under the guise of a PR firm.
- PEDOPHILE PRIESTS- It goes without saying that anyone who pubilcly reveals the names of childhood rape victims has ZERO concious, Even worse, is someone who would do it for money.
