Two years ago, when there were nine candidates running for three seats on the Santa Ana Unified School District’s (SAUSD) School Board, there were numerous debates all over town. I attended several of them.
This year, there are only four candidates and zero debates. What happened?
I have never before seen this happen before in the SAUSD. There have always been at least a few candidates debates. Not this time. Even the PTA took a pass!
I seriously doubt that this is happening in any other school district in Orange County. The voters deserve to see their candidates, and to hear from them in candidates forums.

Perhaps everyone decided to toss everyone out that currently holds office, therefore no need for a debate.
It is indeed a tough year for incumbents!
Maybe you will become Santa Ana’s Steve Rocco.
They don’t want to give Art a place to speak. They know he would kick their backsides. Beat em anyway Art!
Noji real is Ornery!
Funny!
Yes, they are afraid of that. I am the only candidate who speaks Spanish. I would beat Yamagata-Noji in both English and Spanish. They can’t have that!
