Ten women wearing “Muslim garb” that Juan Williams would be nervous to sit next to on an airplane

For thousands of years, women from different cultures all over the globe have
worn headscarves for social, religious, and practical purposes.

Earlier this week, National Public Radio fired longtime news analyst Juan Williams after appearing on Fox Television and telling Bill O’Reilly that he gets “nervous” when he sees “people who are in Muslim garb” boarding the same airplanes he is on.

A blog recently surfaced on the internet entitled, “Pictures of Muslims Wearing Things“, refuting Williams’ notion that there is “such a thing as ‘Muslim garb’ or a Muslim look” by posting photos of prominent Muslims wearing apparel that everybody dresses in.

To further demonstrate how ridiculous Williams’ fears are, I compiled a list of ten women both past and present who are wearing what many people believe to be “Muslim garb”. I wonder how uncomfortable he would feel sitting next to these women on an airplane?
