Congresswoman Sanchez refuses to talk about increase in deportations under Obama

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez got caught on video at yesterday’s Clinton Rally ignoring a Santa Ana resident, Naui Huitzilopochtli, when he asked her why deportations have gone up under President Barack Obama – and what is she going to do about that?

Naui asks her the same question, repeatedly, and finally he implores her not to “do a Sarah Palin on me,” but she does so anyway, as she literally turns tail and runs away.

Is Naui correct about the increase in deportations under Obama?  Yes he is.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said the U.S. deported a record 392,862 illegal immigrants and arrested more of their employers this past year than ever before, according to the Wall St. Journal.  Only half of those deported had criminal records.

For those of you wondering what would change if Van Tran beat Sanchez, this is clear evidence that the answer is…not all that much, at least with regard to immigration reform.  Sanchez clearly doesn’t care about her own people.

Of the three candidates for the 47th Congressional District, only one of them, independent Ceci Iglesias, has made immigration reform and immigrant rights a priority.
