Yamagata-Noji pandered for votes at the Fiestas Patrias parade
Things have been rather quiet in this year’s Santa Ana Unified School District Board elections. This year, as opposed to two years ago, there are only four candidates, including the two incumbents – John Palacio and Audre Yamagata-Noji. The challengers include myself, and a pastor/educator named Jeffrey K. Morris.
A new blog called the OC Democrats blog recently profiled Palacio. I think they did a pretty good job of summarizing his 12 years in office. He has done a good job, overall, and he has my endorsement.
The other incumbent, Yamagata-Noji, is another story altogether. She is so awful that her own political party, the Democratic Party of Orange County, did not endorse her this year. That should tell you all you need to know.
As I expected, the Santa Ana Educators Association, which is the local teachers’ union, endorsed the incumbents. I wrote about that on my campaign blog today. Click here to read that post. It is ridiculous that these hacks would endorse a Trustee who has fired hundreds of teachers and classified staff.

The voters of S.A. are idiots of they voter for Noji again. Her son played on my sons baseball team in Irvine and they went to the same IRVINE school and he used to tell all kinds of jokes about how dumb the kids are in Santa Ana. I was shocked because I knew his mom was on the school board in Santa Ana. He said his mom got if fixed so he could go to Irvine schools because his dad was a coach in Irvine. What a scam!
I believe the comment in the above line.
Unfortunately, many voters in the sausd have been fooled into believing Audrey’s work is all about the kids but she has obviously chose to instill in her son the same negitivism and low expectation that is perpetuating the substandard education she and the many others(many Latinos) have supprted. Every year sh’s been on the board another generation of Latinos get shafted.
She’s a tool for the teachers unions and their supporters(correa, salorio, etc) and we are started to see the price it cost us to hold the unions issues and concers higher than the students.
Irreardless, Art this is the year of anti incumbency. I looked at Audrey’s election performance and it looks like every year it is getting lower.
OC Democrat did a good job? You mean u r patting yourself on the back 4 a story you wrote? Cmon Pedroza. Do you think we r idiots?
