Uhler points out that Tom Campbell wrote the 2005 budget with an unsustainable $12 Billion Dollar increase in spending.
The borrowing in that budget is a major factor in today’s $20+ Billion dollar deficit.

I’ve been wondering – you probably can’t say, but still, I wonder when Carly’s gonna take a stand on Arizona SB 1070.
Is Tom’s backing it helping him in the polls? Will Carly want to follow in his footsteps, or distinguish herself from him by sticking up for privacy and liberty and maybe peeling some anti-racist and Latino votes from him? What would you advise her to do? When is she going to say something?
Even though Tom severely messed up in the Arnold administration. Tom is actually talking the talk about the budget deficit and how we can mend the problems that is causing Europe to crash.

Carly did come out in favor of SB 1070 unless I am in a time-warp.
You can scream the race card all you want Vern – but it is a 70% issue, so I guess the 70% that poll in favor of enforcing our immigration laws are racist?

Polls on immigration reform and SB 1070 are all over the place. Most people don’t understand exactly what SB 1070 does. Which explains how majorities can say they support it, and majorities can also back immigration reform that gives Latinos an easier path to citizenship.
The concern for the GOP is that HISPANICS, a huge and growing percentage of voters in California and elsewhere, KNOW PERFECTLY WELL that SB 1070 is an anti-Hispanic measure, and GOP pols’ embrace of it dooms them with Hispanics for another decade just like that – what was it Prop 103 in the 90′s?
Which is why e-Meg came out against it, and Poizner flipflopped.
