Former half-term governor: 'What? There's THREE candidates? You didn't tell me that, Aaron! Can I do this over?'
Say goodnight Chuck DeVore – your campaign just ended. Incumbent Assembly Politician Chuck DeVore begins the slow grind in to obscurity.
Sarah Palin Endorses U.S. Senate Candidate Carly Fiorina
SACRAMENTO, CA – In yet another sign of the groundswell of conservative support building behind her campaign, U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today earned the endorsement of former Alaska Governor and Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
“Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. She’s not a career politician. She’s a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America’s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career,” said Governor Palin. “Please consider that Carly is the conservative who has the potential to beat California’s liberal senator, Barbara Boxer, in November. I’m a huge proponent of contested primaries, so I’m glad to see the contest in California’s GOP, but I support Carly as she fights through a tough primary against a liberal member of the GOP who seems to bear almost no difference to Boxer, one of the most leftwing members of the Senate.”
Palin served most recently as governor of Alaska, a post to which she was elected in 2006. Palin was a candidate for vice president in 2008, serving as Senator John McCain’s running mate and making her the Republican Party’s first female vice-presidential nominee. Previously, Palin was a member of the Wasilla City Council from 1992 to 1996 and was mayor of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002.
“I am honored and grateful to have Sarah Palin’s support. She, too, is a political outsider and a strong fiscal conservative, and we share a common concern for the direction our country is headed in under Barbara Boxer and her allies in Washington,” said Fiorina. “Californians across the state have had enough of Washington insiders and their political games, and together, I am confident we will help restore integrity to our nation’s capital by bringing Barbara Boxer’s 28-year career to an end.”
Yesterday, Fiorina earned the endorsement of the National Right to Life Political Action Committee, the largest pro-life political action committee in the nation. Previously, Fiorina was endorsed by the National Right to Life Committee’s California affiliate, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List, another national pro-life political action committee.

Do me a favor Vern- leave your leftist humor and commentary in the comment section please.
Well, Bible Spice aside, what’s with the obsession with DeVore? Shouldn’t you guys be more worried about Campbell? Or have you got a conscious policy of pretending he doesn’t exist?
I have never seen more consistent anti-devore propaganda in my life. i mean im a carly guy, but if he is so hopeless and lame, is it really neccessary to slam him every day? I mean all this mudslinging gets a little old after a while.
Irvine, I think the clue lies in something Aaron let slip a few weeks back, which can be encapsulated in the verse: “Hell hath no fury like a PR flack scorned.”
It is funny that anyone would even want Palin’s endorsement…
Vern, i’ll pretend i know what that means.
Art, hahaha i concur
Vernon – it is called antipathy for arrogance. The same thing that drives a lot of the OJ crew after the Jerbal.
You don’t have a lot of experience with my style – but pounding the opposition in to dust is part of it. I have been consistent about that for years…
Tom Campbell is a Democrat – therefore he does not exist. Ny first comment was about the picture you dropped in to this post. I could put a characture of Obama in posts you write, and you’d like it as much as that of Palin.
Irvine, what I meant was that, reading between the lines of something Aaron wrote a while back, he’s mad at Chuck for not hiring him, and then Carly did instead. Ideology can’t explain his tireless hostility to this guy who is no threat to his client – Chuck is a more dependable “conservative” than Carly after all.
As far as his ignoring the frontrunner because he’s really “a Democrat” – well, I’ll defer to his professional judgment on that. It sounds a bit like magical thinking to me. Right now I’d like to see this “Democrat” Demon Sheep’s ass kicked by either Carly now or Babs later, just for his embracing Arizona’s SB 1070!
“She knows how to really incentivize job creation.”
Translation: she really knows how to promote more and more tax breaks for corporations.
* Merger Failed To Produce for Shareholders, Make HP More Competitive. Fortune reported, “First, under the only lens that matters, did the famed merger that Fiorina engineered between HP and Compaq produce value for HP’s shareholders? Second, with that merger nearly three years past, is HP in shape to thrive in its brutally competitive world? The answers are no and doubtful…This was a big bet that didn’t pay off, that didn’t even come close to attaining what Fiorina and HP’s board said was in store.” [Fortune, 02/07/05]
* Even Before Compaq Merger, Fiorina’s Tenure At HP A Series Of Disappointments. According to the Economist, “She has had to warn repeatedly of disappointing results. In the nine months to July, HP saw its net profit fall by 82%, to $506m. The company has slashed costs, announced 6,000 job cuts and asked staff to volunteer for a temporary 10% pay cut. Although there had been some speculation that Ms Fiorina would be replaced, the takeover of Compaq shows that she has – at least for the time being – still got the backing of her board.” [Economist, 9/4/01]
* Centerpiece Of Fiorina’s Tenure Described As A “Total Flop.” The London Observer reported, “With hindsight, it’s hard to see how Carly Fiorina, America’s pre-eminent female executive, who was fired as CEO of Hewlett-Packard last week, could have survived. The centerpiece of her career – a $ 24 billion merger with Compaq – was a flop; HP’s board was threatening to strip her of day-to-day responsibilities at the firm; As one of only eight women heading Fortune 500 companies, the HP/Compaq deal was Fiorina’s fatal error: not just because the strategy was flawed – two years on it has not achieved its goal of improving cost efficiencies in HP’s PC business – but also because she alienated too many people in the process of pursuing that goal.” [London Observer, 2/13/05]
