SCAM!
And how much did it and will it cost to house more of the underserved and vulnerable??
Non-profits are in the business of making a profit off illegal immigrants in Orange County.. housing, social services, hospitals, clinics ect…
Just look at who is running these non-profits to get a clue!
Michelle Q:
You seem to like to throw off rumor, innuendo, and falsehoods to try to make your point and often unsupported by facts, and yet as I wrote before, you NEVER answered the challenge or reply to posts #49 & #50:

They probably could have got Cunningham for just a little bit more.

and Michelle, I’m running this one… come on over.. we’ll give you the tour…
Francisco i will get back to you later on your request when i have more time!
Hi Mr. Baldwin,
Are you prepared to open you’re books up??
Give me a time and a place..
Go away Michelle. Baldwin runs a clean operation and he already files a ton of paperwork with the authorities.
Really Art, then he has nothing to worry about does he??
Does the invitation still stand are you willing Mr. Baldwin to answer all my question and open your books??
Allen B:
I think you would be wasting your time with Michelle Q, based on her prior postings, and her Agenda (which is actually partially open but very misguided)…but who knows she could prove me wrong, although, I have never met her.
Michelle Q about #6:
1) Here is the link to the 2008 IRS Income Tax Form-990 for CHC.
http://occhc.org/documents/990_2008.pdf
2) Audited Financial Statements for 2008.
http://occhc.org/documents/2008_Financial_Statement.pdf
a) Audit of Financials for year 2009 are still under way.
b) These REPORTS are on CHC’s website, and are available to the public.
http://occhc.org/
c) CHC uses an outside certified accountant, and also a certified independent CPA.
d) You can also see the salaries for staff and ZERO compensation for Board. I am trying to recall, but I think that for 2009 Allen B. Executive Director, may have proposed to the Board either a freeze or a reduction of his own salary because of the bad economy.
Like I said, my challenge to you: Go volunteer and go learn the Mission, and Activities for the not-for-profits that you like to call SCAMS…do something productive with these entities…you can volunteer your TIME, MONEY, or TALENT…your choice.
Francisco “Paco” Barragan (my opinions only and not those of any group)
“Like I said, my challenge to you: Go volunteer and go learn the Mission, and Activities for the not-for-profits that you like to call SCAMS…do something productive with these entities…you can volunteer your TIME, MONEY, or TALENT…your choice.”
MQ says:
I am volunteering my time ( as limited as it is) too find out why their is so many Non-profits feeding of the taxpayer and to really find out who is a scamming and who is not.. so far i have found only one that seams totally up and up, “Orange County Cancer foundation”.
They are the only non-profit that does not use the script “underserved, vulnerable and needy”.. which is pretty ironic!
Quinn, you need to study the tips that “IN DISMAY” kindly left for you last night, before you ever again sit down to make a fool of yourself at the keyboard:
AGAIN, from “IN DISMAY” :
If you believe that teachers have failed their students for far “to” long, you don’t make sense. It’s far “too” long. Too = also, or an abundance of. Such as your posts are TOO ridiculous TO take seriously. Do you see the difference?
Let’s look at the rest of your comment –
If your talking about my post – you got it wrong – its written by a women that has done her homework!
your should be you’re – your means belonging to you; you’re = you are. Example: You’re out of your mind. Do you see the difference?
its = belonging to it ; it’s = it is. Oh, and women is plural (more than one) for woman. You also seem to have abandoned the notion of correct comma usage.
Basically, your posts are full of false generalizations (CUSD has an extremely high graduation rate, as well as a high percentage of high school grads who are accepted to four-year colleges).
Oh, and “seams” are what you sew; “seems” is the word you should have used. Example: It SEEMS that your arguments are weak and coming apart at the SEAMS.
As far as my spelling ect.. Is concerned.. Really sue me!
All those well educated teachers ,teaching at sausd and all those Phd’s running the districts does not a good student make. Infact book educated individuals have become a shear burden on society with their ignorant view of society. So If my spelling is poor I am sorry, what more can I say:)
so Mr. F can you explain to me the Nsp2 scam, sorry ( there goes my lack of education again) grant!
Just try to remember these three things, they are mistakes you make over and over. We are only trying to help you.
You’re = you are, whereas “your” is possessive – like your post, your comment.
It’s = it is, whereas “its” is possessive – like America and its discontents.
And seams are things that you sew; “seems” is generally what you mean to say when you’re talking about how something appears.
Stop making us feel like we’re wasting all our efforts with you. You obviously are learning nothing of substance here, so you may as well learn how to present yourself better.
You are so funny Vern.. Would you like to write for me and I can dictate over the phone?
Perfection in writing is not my goal-the truth is!
So Mr. F. Would you please explain the Nsp2 grant to all the developers (non-profits) in the amount of 7 million dollars.
Or would you like me to explain it?
MQ,
The Neighborhood Stabilization Program2 (NSP2) was established to stabilize neighborhoods whose viability has been and continues to be damaged by the economic effects of properties that have been foreclosed upon and abandoned. NSP2, a term that references the NSP funds authorized by Title XII of Division A of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, (the Recovery Act) provides grants to states, local governments, nonprofits and a consortium of public and or private nonprofit entities on a competitive basis.
Objectives
Program Purpose
HUD’s Recovery Act funds support three themes that align with the broader goals of the Recovery Act: (1) promoting energy efficiency and creating green jobs, (2) unlocking the credit markets and supporting shovel-ready projects, and (3) mitigating the effects of the economic crisis and preventing community decline. HUD’s overriding objective in support of these goals is the creation and preservation of jobs.
Public Benefits
The expected benefits of NSP are to stabilize property values and prevent neighborhood blight. In addition, we will contribute to HUD’s overriding goal of creating and preserving jobs. NSP2 will provide funding for the purchase and/or redevelopment of thousands of foreclosed and abandoned homes and properties across the nation. These actions will help to stabilize neighborhoods by limiting the downward pull that vacant properties exert on surrounding properties and will provide the opportunity for thousands of households to realize or regain the ability to own their own home. It will also aid communities by providing a ready source of funding to demolish and clear blighted structures or to land bank real property until such time as demand can be re-established. Further, the inclusion of non-profit organizations as eligible grantees in NSP2 will foster greater innovation in support of the goals of the program and offers the opportunity to increase coordination and cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The Nsp2 program is what you call a win-win-win for communities;
Win 1; Empty homes do not become blighted havens for drug dealers and gangs, thus preventing the deterioration of neighborhoods and property values.
Win 2; Provides jobs for the local communities, via labor and purchases of materials.
Win 3; Allows qualifying low-income people, an opportunity to purchase a home, thus giving them a stake in their community.
Vern Nelson:
I appreciate your wit at #11 above, especially your use of the corrected words in a sentence…levity and a smile often are good antidotes for the “ailments” caused by other people.
Hi Francisco,
I learned a lot about your wee outfit today.
Allen B.. is a lovely man, very honest!
I would very much say in the next coming years – I will be a hugh ailment to ALL FOR PROFITS in Orange County.
My writing will get better and I have all the time in the world to do my homework on Orange Country SCAMS!
Enjoy your up coming event 2010:)
Anonster
The information is correct regarding NSP2 grants..
You left out one minor detail – especially in orange county most of the low in come population are illegal immigrants!
Just a win win situation for all – except middle class Americans and legal residents who work for a living!
Vern can you correct my mistake’s!
Thanks Mate:)
Thanks Paco, but I was quoting from a commenter on another post, who went by “In Dismay.”
Michelle. In #17, it’s “huge.” “Hugh” is a guy’s name.
And in #19 don’t use that apostrophe to make a plural. It’s just “mistakes.”
Michelle Q:
you said, “I learned a lot about your wee outfit today…Allen B.. is a lovely man, very honest!”
My response:
Great!
But this is Not “my” outfit.
CHC has been on this very critical mission of transitioning people to self sufficiency through affordable housing and education for awhile now…I just feel honored and fortunate to be able to volunteer some talent to this great cause that Bob Johnson, Allen Baldwin and others started way before my time.
This is also one of the many worthwhile organizations on which I have been serving for years…and which you suggested in the past that they were scams.
Francisco “Paco”
Michelle, I understand your concern. But it seems to me that since you don’t know much for this organization or program, why would you immediately label it a SCAM?
“Thanks Paco, but I was quoting from a commenter on another post, who went by “In Dismay.”
MQ says:
“Dismay”, is a teacher who is moaning about her 10% decrease in pay, while many other’s in the private sector are losing their jobs.. Pure ignorance!
“CHC has been on this very critical mission of transitioning people to self sufficiency through affordable housing and education for awhile now…”
MQ says:
Not only are taxpayers paying to give the so called poor money to put down on a house, but also to pay their rent!
Stepping up gets money to buy properties from the banks through a government program called the NSP2 grant – also know as the, “Neighborhood Stabilization Program”, then they turn around and sell them for more more – too of course, “the underserved and the vulnerable – sounds good already ah?
Stepping up also has rental properties ( some own out right) and rents them out to of course, “The underserved and the vulnerable”. – sounds like land lords yeah!
7 non-proftis do the same thing ie.. Clearing House, stepping up.
All working together for a “MISSION”.
All this madness needs to stop!
Lam,
They are all doing the same thing.. every single non-profit in Orange County feeds off the taxpayer…
The middle class worker without a doubt is being taken to the cleaners by a lot of Non-profits..
Ok sorry for the typo’s!
Michelle Q:
1) Refer back to your post #1 and RE-READ it!
My response: (It seems that you pattern is to throw out simplistic labels…and see what sticks)
2) you also state at #18, “You left out one minor detail – especially in orange county most of the low in come population are illegal immigrants!
Just a win win situation for all – except middle class Americans and legal residents who work for a living!”
My response:
2A) How do you know that most of the low income are illegal immigrants in Orange County…consider the data in the link below???
http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/04/14/citizen.children/index.html
2B) Also, did you know and this is anecdotal, that a greater number of US citizens, legal residents are finding themselves homeless…and as I shared with you previously, independent non-partisan studies show that illegal immigrants are a NET POSITIVE impact to the US economy and the incomes of American Households.
http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/04/14/citizen.children/index.html
Francisco “Paco” Barragan (My opinion only and not those of any group)
Michelle, I don’t blame you for being suspicious of non-profit organizations. Did you know that Kaiser Permanente is also a non-profit organization? Those lying bastards…but that’s another subject for another time:) Basically, the point is that I understand your suspicion. I’m just saying you should give people a chance to explain themselves before screaming SCAM.
Paco did you see Robert Reich’s recent article (and other recent articles) contending that immigration reform – giving AMNESTY to a whole BUNCH of illegals, getting them legal and paying into the tax system – is exactly what we need to keep Social Security and Medicare afloat for us baby boomers?
http://www.csmonitor.com/Money/Robert-Reich-s-Blog/2010/0411/Immigration-Could-it-solve-Social-Security-Medicare-woes
You or I could make a killer post about this, create lots of controversy, and we’d be right.
Arm-wrestle you for it?
Michelle Q at #23:
You state “Not only are taxpayers paying to give the so called poor money to put down on a house, but also to pay their rent!”
Response:
a) So you are saying NO poor person should receive any assistance to transition out of poverty…you want them to stay in poverty. UMM…RIGHT….
b) or you are you also saying, that if not the poor, then I guess you are saying that only the rich should benefit, UMM…RIGHT…
c) unless you say that neither the government, nor VOLUNTEERS nor NOT-for-profits should provide any services…so you are going to DICTATE to VOLUNTEERS how to give…UMM…RIGHT
d) So let’s do away with all governmental services, which includes all types of necessary infrastructure or safety nets…UMMM..RIGHT
you state:
“Stepping up gets money to buy properties from the banks through a government program called the NSP2 grant…then they turn around and sell them for more more – too of course, “the underserved and the vulnerable – sounds good already ah?”
My response:
d) Tell me how much money “Stepping up” got from the banks to buy properties, and how many were bought?
e) Tell me how many were sold for more?
f) and in particular, tell me how many were sold for more, to the “underserved and the vulnerable”?
You state:
“Stepping up also has rental properties ( some own out right) and rents them out to of course, “The underserved and the vulnerable”. – sounds like land lords yeah!”
My response:
g) So being a “landlord” is wrong? (So no one should make an investment, and make their investment work)
h) So charging substantially BELOW market rates to help transition families out of poverty through dignified affordable housing is wrong?
Perhaps, you suggest GIVING these properties AWAY, or CHARGING ZERO amounts…oh wait…I thought you had a problem with helping poor people have a down-payment, or to help them pay their rent.
h) How do you keep your conflicting/competing ideas straight in your head???
I know, listen to the echo in your head…”All this madness needs to stop!…All this madness needs to stop!…All this madness needs to stop!…
If you won’t “listen” to others…Listen to the your voice in your head… it may be telling you something!
It is amazing how you denigrate and make unfounded and broad generalizations…even in the face of facts to the contrary.
Francisco “Paco” Barragan (My opinions only and not those of any group)
Dear Francisco
Please do not advise Michelle to listen to the voice in her head.
Lam Pho:
You are correct.
Michelle Q:
I take my advise back…please ignore my advise…please do NOT listen to the voice in your head.
Francisco,
MQ is like one of those crazy (and I do mean CRAZY) kid toys that always bounces back, no matter how hard you smack it down. Being presented with facts or logical rebuttals means nothing to her, she fancies herself and her own opinions above all else.
I’m sure she’ll take that comment as a compliment, a tribute to her spunky Irish nature and spunky she is, but she is also low-hanging fruit, an easy punching bag, a fool.
“Michelle Q:
I take my advise back…please ignore my advise…please do NOT listen to the voice in your head.”
MQ says:
From a Divis Flats girl (N.Ireland) to a business woman living in Sunny California – I think i will continue to listen to the voice in my head. The voice in my head, which i tend to think is coming from my gut – has guided me well!
“I’m sure she’ll take that comment as a compliment, a tribute to her spunky Irish nature and spunky she is, but she is also low-hanging fruit, an easy punching bag, a fool.”
MQ says:
Yes i do!
Any attack on my character from you- to me is a compliment!
And if you truly knew me – spunky, punching bag fool is not quite how you would describe me!
Though i think it’s CUTE of you to think i am so CUTE or could you be a fool?
Mr. F. I will get back to you regarding your question’s. I want to take my time and do my home work on your NOT -FOR- PROFIT
Good night all and sleep tight:)
