Thanks, Wisconsin. Unfortunately we're not dealing with a writer here who cares a whit about truth or accuracy, but just propaganda value. You must know some folks like that up in your state.

I think your headline is not entirely accurate; ACORN was not charged with anything, it was two former ACORN workers charged. When ACORN discovered the fraud themselves, they fired the workers. AFAIK, the false voter registrations have to be filed as collected; to filter them could produce other charges.

Finally, no votes were affected by this criminal action; the system worked.

In the system we use, both parties and conserned groups pay people to collect registrations.

Since Arcorn has collected more Democratic signatures that for the Republicans, even though I am sure the Republican party has paid people from Acorn for signatures also, Acorn is under attack from the right wing.

This is no surprise, as long as you pay people per signature to collect them some will commit fraud and should be prosecuted. I am positive if someone took the time you could find just as many bad republican registrations as democrat or independant.

Several years ago in a district not to far from here I seen some numbers that showed that actually percentage wise at that time the reform party had the highest percentage of bad registration, this was right after Perot had paid signature collectors a high amount at that time to get the party on the ballot here in California.

It is part of the system, perhaps automatic registration to vote when you get your Drivers Licence or plates might be a better system, but then again a lot of people would be out of jobs collecting signatures for registration. I do not know what the best solution is.

I do know if money is involved and it is paid per card to register voters then fraud will happen, in all parties probally more in the last cycle in the democratic area since we were collecting more new registrations at that time, the opposite is likely true now.

No surprises, no great big left wing or right wing plot to rule the world, just simple facts of money and greed

Hm, charged, huh? I trust Terry will let us know how the case turns out, even if they're found not guilty. (Sure.)

Looks like, worst case scenario, if these people did what they are accused of, they're responsible for THREE fraudulent votes in Wisconsin! Oh my, do a recount, Obama may have stolen the election!
