Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is launching her re-election campaign this Sunday, February 28, from 1:00pm – 3:30pm, at Woodbury Park, located at 12800 Rosita Pl., in Garden Grove.
Here is her announcement, from the Sanchez Facebook Campaign website:
Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is set to kick off her 2010 re-election campaign to continue serving the constituents of the 47th Congressional District.
“Serving the people of California’s 47th district in Congress is a great honor and a privilege, and I am so grateful that my constituents have elected me to represent their values and priorities for the past fourteen years.
I approach each and every decision I make by putting the families of my district first. Our country may be on the road to recovery, but there is much more work that needs to be done to jumpstart our economy. And with my seniority in Congress, I am well positioned to continue our critical efforts to put people back to work, improve education, and reform our health care system.
I truly believe that I have the best job in the world, which is why I am proudly running again to continue to represent the great people of California’s 47th Congressional District.”
Sanchez, volunteers, and supporters will be door knocking in the Garden Grove area.
I’ll miss this one, but Loretta can count on Anaheim precincts getting the word from this Jedi! Buh Bye Sithspawn Van Tran!
Luke,
I still am hoping that Quang Pham will beat Van Tran. That would hurt Tran even more.
It is hard to imagine that Sanchez will lose this seat. But many feel that she has taken Latinos for granted. I saw her at the Tet Parade a few weeks ago, dressed in Viet clothes. I have not seen her at the Fiestas Patrias parade in Santa Ana in several years…and I have NEVER seen her in traditional Mexican clothing.
Sanchez may not meet all expectations all of the time but she is still the best of the lot. Pham is all about himself. When will they stop these with these vanity press autobiographical books? I met him once and was not impressed at all.
#3,
Do you even know Pham? I do. He is a very nice man. And he served our country in the U.S. Marines.
He also serves on boards of several non-profits.
Vote for Sanchez if you will, but maligning Pham is not necessary. The bad guy in the primary isn’t Pham. It is Van Tran…
Tran AND Sanchez — both carpetbaggers.
Art,
What does her clothing have anything to do with her job as a US Congress member, you demean her by bringing crap like that into the conversation. I think she’s a moderate that votes liberally when it counts, and has intellect and tenacity to represent her district well nationally, yet you bring up mere attire…
What about Quang Pham? Does he wear boxers or briefs and is his choice pandering to a certain demographic?
The reason Loretta Sanchez doesn’t wear traditional Mexican clothing is because she will look just like any other Mexican mom. I know she hasn’t had my baby yet and maybe it’s too late for her (she is kinda old now).
She’s not that “light” as she likes to tell people. Looking at the picture of her, Solorio and Correa, Solorio and Sanchez are pretty close in color and I have never thought of Solorio as “light” skinned.
A closer look at the picture makes me wonder who looks more manly, Loretta, Jose or Lou?
Luke,
Use the force young Jedi! Open your closed mind.
Sanchez flounces about in Viet clothes at every Tet Festival, but cannot be bothered to do the same at the Fiestas Patrias. Isn’t that a double standard?
Pham at least was dressed in a nice suit. He didn’t resort to ridiculous postering, unlike Sanchez.
We want substance from Sanchez, and support for a progressive agenda. What we get instead is pandering to the Vietnamese while dressed in clothes she would never wear the rest of the time.
Sorry young Jedi. I am not buying this act.
“Pham at least was dressed in a nice suit.”
Why does Pham try to wear the white mans clothing? He should be true to his culture and wear the BLACK Pajamas I saw his people wearing in Nam!
I want to see Loretta in her BLACK PAJAMAS!
She is packing it on in all the right places. There is definitely something HOT about a forty something Latina in a position of authority! She carries it well until she starts talking policy, and then I lose all interest.
*We like Linda Ronstandt but we don’t think she will challenge Loretta. “Get Back…Get Back…sweet Loretta….Get back to where you once belonged!”
This show be a interesting primary. Is it still modified open?
#10 likes old ladies with big noses that resemble Karl Malden.
Hey, Daly, Inspector Stone was a stud in his day.
Loretta wins the “Who Has a More Manly Face” competition.
