I can’t make this up – two of Whitman’s endorsers, A State Senator and an Assemblymember (both of whom voted to confirm Tax-Raiser and Harvey Milk Day Supporter, Abel Maldonado for Lt. Gov) – sent out a blustery Email.
They said now is the time for party Unity. We need to unite behind Meg Whitman… (The Rally Gerbil is pleased) They basically say that the primary is over and free ourselves of the Steve Poizner Chains. The rest of us are holding our collective noses wondering if the whole thing has gone berzerk.
Dan Walters from the Sacramento Bee lit up Meg Whitman – and at the same time also took swipes at Poizner for doing little and Jerry Brown for being Jerry Brown.
I get the sense that Walters is not a Jerry Brown fan. He lambastes Whitman for ducking debates and trying to campaign in a bubble and points out that Brown will tear her apart in the fall…
