It was hard piecing all this together off newspaper articles. Pham is my guy. Not sure what Smith is up to but as I wrote in my post, I think she is envisioning a Viet vote split. Sanchez would easily beat Smith at any rate. But Pham is the best of the bunch - certainly better than Sanchez, who appears to have forgotten she is a Latina! Gustavo,

Kathy Smith did vote with Martin in 1999, when he first proposed suing Mexico. In fact, the only trustee at the time to oppose him was Slim Terrell. After that proposal quickly died and only then did Smith oppose Harald. However, remember that Smith was also key to getting Harald appointed back to the board a couple of years ago before he resigned in disgrace. To sum: Smith is better than Tran but worse than Pham...
