Those lawyers sue the US Government for literally tens of millions of dollars. They sue cities, and they are the go-to for suing Disney it would seem…no wonder the city, state and federal governments are broke. But Loretta is for ‘small businesses’. Yeah, Right!

In local elections the police and fire unions and PAC endorse and support republican candidates. This is an example of unions supporting republican candidates, crazy!

The Democrats already have publicly financed campaigns, since taxpayers pay the tab for the government worker unions (which comprise the vast majority of all union workers) who funnel the money to Democrats.

Otherwise, publicly financed campaigns are wrong because (a) they force taxpayers to pay for others political speech and (b) even putting that aside, they could only “work” by otherwise limiting our own political speech.

I wasn’t going to comment on this until #9 “Jim Benson” mentioned that public finance of elections is the “only answer”. Nothing could be further from the truth. Public campaign finance is one of the biggest travesties to liberty you could think of. There is nothing “wrong” with organized labor OR business support, as long as we know where the her support is coming from in the first place.

Here is the union data, direct from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics:

In 2008, union members accounted for 12.4 percent of employed wage and salary workers.

10.6% of Hispanic workers belong to unions.

I don’t know what the local union figures are. But I doubt they deviate much from the national average.

Hey, where does everyone elses money come from?

A lot of the same places, perhaps more business contributions for Republicans and more Labor contributions for Democrats.

The vast majority of everyday people that live in most districts do not contribute money or vote. And we wonder why our elected pander to special intrests, they are forced to to some degree by the way the system currently works.

Public financing of campaigns is the only real solution.

Yeah, where DID that stat come from? And I’d also ask:

How many Latino CITIZENS/VOTERS, IN HER DISTRICT, are union members OR FAMILY MEMBERS of union members. Guessing we’d get WAY up above 10%, maybe closer to 40 or 50.

The idea that Unions are corrupt special interests as opposed to the only organized voice for working classes is corporate GOP propaganda that some folks here need to get over.

I think it’s time we take down Sanchez and we the people actually start making a difference in our community. This is such a crucial district in Orange County that needs so much help.

I looked at the bills she has sponsored what a joke… All she wants to do is spend our money like a crazed Nordstrom shopper. We need to run these crooks out of office, what a waiste of space. Thanks for sharing OJ blog do you have a better candidate?

Just think how well government budgets could be balanced and deficits could be lowered if the “Tax Your Gross Income” applied to the income of the PAC’s, Political Parties, and all of the non-profit (non-tax paying) 503’s that the government people control for their personal benefit.
