If apartments or condos are built we will lose the only gun show in Orange County. Insult to injury as the whole reason we are fighting for our fairgrounds is to protect our American history and culture. Why are you so eager for us to pay even more by giving up what many of us consider the county's crown jewel? Except that I know you Robin Cook, and you just like to be different. Others may chime in with their own responses, but I'll just say we LIKE it where it is in Costa Mesa. And if it moves, there's no guarantee that the less-profitable but very popular parts of the Fair would be welcome at a new location (horseback riding, Centennial Farm, 4-H, etc. etc.) And probably no new swap meet either. If not sold, (the new bill) Where would you (the state)collect tax money to make up the required diff? The Costa Mesa site was an old air base, there are at least 2 other old air bases more than big enough for the fair to be held. What would happen if the fair grounds were sold?
