Art Pedroza even goes so far as to equate gay marriage with a tribute song to Queen. He introduced this whole sorry topic with my happy little article. And maybe nobody else is even reading. Its beyond ridiculous. Does anyone really think Freddie Mercury would want his songs remembered that way?

And why call people who want their marriage performed in churches bigots, Art? Why the hate? Maybe the fact that it was a fun little article was something he couldn’t let pass.

Art’s refusal to abandon his hypocrisy, stop his goosestepping Cultural Gestapo tactics and realize he doesn’t claim the flag of tolerance, sure doesn’t make him any easier to read, does it?

I’ve heard Terry’s take on marriage equality many times, and I can restate it but it is still strikes me as pure nonsensical sophistry. All I can figure is a) he’s attached to it because it’s original and he’s proud of it and stubborn; or b) something about the issue makes him irrational, and maybe Zenger is on to something.

Ten percent of us are born gay. It is not “special rights” or a “special definition of marriage” for any adult American to be able to marry the (adult) person they love. This just seems to me “self-evident” like slavery being wrong or all Americans being endowed by their creator with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The “slippery slope” worry of incest and polygamy (let alone bestiality) is a red-herring insult to our 30 million gay Americans.

And on top of that Terry purports to speak for Libertarians on this? As Parliament-Funkadelic sang, “Does not compute.”

That is ridiculous. The California Libertarian Party opposed Prop. 8. So did the OC Libertarian Party.

That is because it is injust and unfair to oppose gay marriage.

I don’t believe that churches should be forced to perform gay marriages if they prefer to be bigots. But there are churches that accept gay marriage. Why tell them what to do?

Liberty restrained by haters is not freedom.

Get married in a church, in a chapel, in a private ceremony of your own devising. Government has no legitimate place in the marriage of free and sovereign individuals.

Get married by the powers inherently invested in yourselves.

The question libertarians ask the gay community is the same they ask everyone else: why do you need a bureaucrat to sanction your marriage?

Don’t let a bunch of Leftists lead you down the path to needing government to abide you. That’s nonsense.

And I don’t care how bright you say Zenger is. You’re pretty bright, and you’re an idiot. And he’s a Republican? Strike two. And, he’s clearly not conservative. Not bright, not conservative, Republican. Three strikes. Nuf said.

The only haters are the people like you Art, who go around knowing you think so much better than everybody else. Again, a majority of the country doesn’t agree with you that gays should get special rights. Get over it.

I didn’t compare gay marriage to anything. I said, if you want to give one group of people the right to decide what marriage means to ONE group, you have to give it to ALL. Only addle-pated Leftists who see the world in terms of groups and colors would consider otherwise.

In fact, I consider you maintaining that marriage centers around sex to be quaint and old fashioned, and sort of old timerly, kind of like the rest of your ideas. Good luck with them.

And if you liked Queen so much, you wouldn’t have turned a fun little ditty into an opportunity to breath heavy all over the place. You’d have written your “gays deserve special rights” piece on your own.

Dave Zenger is one of THE brightest Republicans I know. I am sad you are resorting to name-calling when you clearly don’t know him.

I am a huge fan of Queen by the way. I have their greatest hits on my cell phone and listen to them all the time. Freddy was the coolest and no way would he have supported the Prop. 8 haters.

People should have the right to marry their partners – gay or otherwise.

It’s not like straight marriage has a great record. Didn’t Tiger Wood’s wife just take a golf club to his head allegedly when she found out he was cheating on her? Mulligan!

Vern, you have no argument. All you “heavy breathed” in my direction is a bunch of hyperbole that doesn’t require a response. And thats wonderful. It takes the breath away to see the transferrence and the cowardice you evidence. You see some groups of people as deserving of more privileges.
