Loading ...“Councilman Andy Quach, who was charged with driving drunk in connection with an Aug. 2 traffic accident, made a surprise appearance at Wednesday’s council meeting and made a statement apologizing to residents and council members for his actions,” according to the O.C. Register.
Is Quach’s apology enough? I still think he should resign.
Here is what Quach had to say at tonight’s Westminster City Council meeting:
“I acknowledge the level of disappointment and frustration you may express to me tonight,” he said, addressing a standing-room-only audience in council chambers. “I share in that disappointment. In fact, no one is more disappointed by what happened than I am.”
this guy will say anything now to save his own skin. If he wants to be an advocate, he could’ve done that during all these years that he’s been elected to office. But HE CHOSE NOT TO DO ANYTHING USEFUL!!! I wonder what he would come up with if innocent lives were taken by his drunkeness this time? I say, let’s get rid of all Viet politicians, ESPECIALLY THE TRANNIES, ALL OF THEM!!!
MY QUESTION IS, AS A COUNCILMAN, HE’S ONLY MAKING APPROXIMATELY $600 A MONTH, HE AS NO OTHER JOBS, HOW IS IT THAT HE’S ABLE TO AFFORD A TRIP OUT OF THE COUNTRY? IN FACT HE’S OUT OF THE COUNTRY QUITE OFTEN. DOES THIS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH VAN TRAN? VAN’S AFRAID TO GET HIS HAND DIRTY SO HE SEND QUACH. I WONDER WHY THE VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY NEVER BOTHER TO ASK? OR IS IT THE NORM FOR VIET POLITICIANS TO DO DIRTY DEEDS?
I support councilman Quach for having the courage to show up to face the citizens of Westminster. I bet he knows there will be group of people prepare to take this opportunity to criticize and ask him to step down. Mr. Quach is still physically in pain from the accident, and I give him lot of credit for showing up to face Westminster folks and apologized to the public for his mistake.
What else can we ask from him? If Mr. Quach resign he will be a coward and I be he will not do so. Recall will not be a good option because it will cost tax payers moneys and time. Mr. Quach will only be in office for another year, let wait and judge him by his performances from now on until his re-election, not just by this incident.
One sad thing i like to point out is that one VIETNAMESE SPEAKER who criticized Mr. Quach for being a bad roll model for the Vietnamese community. He asked the City to post update of Mr. Quach’s information on City Website and provide general information about recalling procedure. That’s a personal attack on Mr. Quach. The City doesn’t have to provide any information about an individual personal neglegent. The fact is that mr. Quach had admit to take full responsible for his mistake. Mr. Quach is also a private citizen like anyone else, his personal life should be posted on government’s website.I have a feeling this guy is being paid to stand up there or he just wanted to be different and get attention. He doesn’t represent the Vietnamese Community. If he likes to know more about Mr. Quach’s information then ask Mr. Quach himself or take some off like he did tonight and read the news.
he’s out of the country at least a few times a year. he was away last Christmas to CHINA with Van Tran, Tyler Truong Diep and a few other local polticians. I’ve told that these junkets and none of them have to pay for air fares, hotels or meals. It’s a sponsored trip and paid for either by businesses interesting in doing business w/ US. have BOLSAVIK dig deep, he’ll find it. He’s good at that.
I for give him this time for the Drinking incident. Next time if there is one probally not.
His politics should be a seperate issue.There seems to be much there to question and he needs to answer.
#2 He makes $600 a month, yet he can afford several trips out of the country, drives a $100,000 car, live in a million dollar home, has quite a few real estate properties, on and on… How does he do it? Candid talk, most council members in every city have good paying full-time jobs in addition to their part-time elected position at a City Council. Usually, though not always, most council people’ businesses do much better, financially, while in office. That’s not difficult to figure out. Everybody would like to do business with them. Why, well, they control lot’s of money when running a local government. Go and ask Gary Monahan in Costa Mesa why he loves to be an elected official?

by the way, i heard the owner of Citryst bragging that the councilmen (Tylor and Andy) are there to keep the cops from coming there to bother her customers and her attorney is a long time and best friend of Andy Quach. Is this how he got to represent all the businesses in the city? what a bunch of crooks. i am so glad to see them being exposed
