This is a high roller act in that stepping down from a high level elected office, regardless of the size of the state, diminishes your “free ride” with the media if you have any hopes for higher office.
Let me also point out that Alaska has an annual budget of around $11 billion yet has a budget surplus that may be upwards of 3 to 5 billion dollars. There is a risk with budgeting in Alaska as that surplus in dependent on oil and gas which combine for around 80 percent of their revenue.

So while she cannot take credit for the surplus she was in a great position being one of the few governors, if any, who could boast of having a surplus in this financial meltdown.

I omly point that out as she surely was not confronted with resolving a budget nightmare as Arnold faces in CA.
As I do not use a crystal ball, and am not privy to any legal issues she may be facing, I will use my fall back position in that she is tired of the media hammering her minor children who should not be part of the news coverage unless they have engaged in any illegal acts.

It is going to be a few more bad years, and that is not good for “office holders” who society blames for the bad times.

The smart move would be to resign now and let the responsibility and accumulated blame fall onto another for the next two years and then come back as a shining knight to rescue society from those in power and their failures.

Maybe I’m wrong (and it would’nt be the first time) but, either she’s about to get indicted or this is the stupidest political move since her running mate “SUSPENDED” his campaign!

As Republicans….we need more…not less. We
need better….not worse. We need clear issues..not convoluted. We need honest…..not uncertain. We need powerful….not weak victims.
Other than that…..Palin’s spot replacing Elizabeth Hasselback……is not assured. She could fill in for Greta Van Sustern however – all the time!

Well her legal fund needs more money, so please get your checks in to help her out.

My take: Her pettiness is so strong that she is using up a TON of money going all legal on “bloggers” who have posted about rumors. This might turn into a very interesting SLAPP suit in which we all learn about how much “free speech” everyone can/cannot practice here in the US.

If so, that’s gonna cost some $$$$$$$$$$$$$ so please send in your checks for Sarah to spend on her vindictive foray into lawsuits against citizens practicing free speech.
