A taser is standard issue to law enforment officers in Fullerton. They all already have them. Perhaps more research into what is already in the arsenal of Fullerton officers was warranted?

"Do we need tasers in Fullerton?".... sure we need them Tony!

As we criticize entire world for the brutality we must enhance our own brutality Tony.

As the leaders of the free world we need best concentration camps with best torture techniques and best death squads spirited after SAPD13.

We are laughing at Iranian concept of Supreme Leader yet we are romanticizing British Queen or Supreme Court.

Twice we got President Bush selected by Electoral College rather than his opponent elected by Popular vote.... but we have democracy and the others do not, we think.

I think that we Americans are full of sh*t.

Oddly enough I assumed every police department had tasers as part of their "less-lethal" arsenal. When used properly tasers do provide a viable alternative during an officers “escalation of force” in a combative situation.

Unfortunately, in some cases officers immediately jump to the use of tasers as an alternative to getting their hands dirty, or getting hurt, in an old fashioned knock down drag out fight. Everyone remembers how ugly the Rodney King arrest looked as officers used night sticks. That incident is probably why tasers have become the fashion statement of the modern police officer.

I’m sure most police officers could write pages both for and against the use of the taser and all would be valid arguments. This is something the city fathers are going to have to decide. Personally I’d rather take a beat down from a nightstick and suffer a broken arm or leg rather than being shocked into cardiac arrest.
