“Capistrano Unified trustees on Wednesday approved a $372 million, 2009-10 budget that includes a last-minute, 9 percent pay cut for administrators that will allow first first-grade classes to be capped at 25 kids each,” according to the O.C. Register.
Wow. I wonder why they don’t consider doing this in Santa Ana, where instead they are bringing laid off administrators back to work and leaving teachers hanging high.
Is it just me or does education come last at the SAUSD? It sure seems like SAUSD Superintendent Jane Russo and the SAUSD School Board are more interested in cronyism and stuffing their wallets as opposed to taking care of their teachers and ensuring a good education for our kids.
Thank you, Art…well said. Kids are NOT coming first in this school district. Who was the genius at the state level who said CSR = 30 kids? Of course, the SAUSD jumpred right on the “greedy bandwagon” just to save a “few” dollars. I say “few” because it is peanuts, but it WILL come back to haunt them later on. Their test scores are the “600 club” not the “800 club”, but will soon drop to the “500 club” and Ms. Russo then will be in the unemployment line with the rest of us. Then, we can all say, “Cheers, Jane…how does it feel?” Remember, what goes around…comes around and I TRULY do believe that. Now, go take on the day. (Dr. Laura)

When I called to get my wage for my last week of work, payroll told me they were “too busy” to tell…nice.
At last Tuesday’s board meeting the Superintendent announced district administrators took a 4% pay cut. The board president expressed his delight at the news. Talk about the ultimate brown noser.
