I have done a lot of work to support cancer patents in the community. It's a shame that the OC Supervisors are so quick to pass an ordinance to restrict registered sex offenders (did their time and punishment) from parks and beaches. The police, probation officers and DA are doing a great job.

Why add more funding to this endeavor when programs like this can help many more people and not hurt others that are just trying to get on with their lives. I believe it is politics. Me? I understand that planned parenthood does much more than perform abortions. It's a valuable source of education and treatment for women and others.

Those that read this write or call the OC Supervisors. Together we can make a difference!

Michelle Quinn you give me a headache. I doubt you're a nurse. You couldn't pass a spelling test. I'm guessing your I.Q. is below 70.

Art,

As usual, you leave your readers feeling you're illiterate or banging their heads against the wall... exactly what do you think happens when you "tax" the tobacco companies with lawsuits? They raise their prices. You know who pays... and you dont care!

Quit shilling for the tax and spenders.

The better question here is, come clean with what you stand to gain...

Terry,

You are not getting this at all. This is not tax money - it came from a settlement with tobacco manufacturers. Whether that was wrong or right is debatable, but the money is there and has to be used.

Again, why not use it for breast cancer scans for young women with no insurance?

You LOSE! Tobacco Tax Money used for your pet projects is just tax money from the poorest among us.

Maybe you ought to think more clearly before you bash those who actually care about our personal resources and personal values.

Art,
Prop 10 is money from tabacco TAX!!

Its a TAX!! people pay it to the GOV. then the GOV spends it on stupit program's and takes it away from programs that it was suppose to support Early childhood development for 0-5 children of all income's and of course smoking prevention programs.
Instead they use it for a socialistic bananza to the underserved and vunerable to fund programs like HABLA!!!

The money could be used to fund Breast Cancer Research.

Art, i dont think you get it!

Terry and Michelle,

You two don't get it. This program was supposed to use tobacco settlement money - not tax money. Read the article before you froth at the mouth.

yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More money to Planned Parent Hood (another non-profit scam)for another one of their great programs to the vunerable and underserved.

Art give me a break!! Breast care what the hell does that mean??? Really??

Play a dvd on breast cancer and preventive care in schools it will cost millions less to tax payers.

If you care to look it up one of the reason's i am so angery about the use of the prop 10 money to fund stupid programs to the underserved, is becasue prop 10 money took away funds for breast cancer research!! (FROM EVERY WOMAN INCLUDING THE UNDERSERVED AND VUNERBLE WOMEN)

I use Underserved and Vunerable because it is the script to scam taxpayers out of money to fund government and non-profits that make money off illegal immigrants "the poor and underserved", while screwing the taxpayer.

And when the poor and underserved go to get advice from the clinic's of planned parent hood, regarding "BREAST CARE",do you think it will be free?? NO MEDICAL!!

As a Nurse working in the field i new many women who had breast cancer wait to get care, because they could not afford to pay for the high prem's/copays of health care cost, due to the large majority of unisured illegal immigrants in this state!!

And dont worry the so call demlicans, will pay up for this stupid program, because it make's their rich friends richer!!

open your mind as well as your heart Art!!

A lady I used to work with at OC Health Care Agency could not believe that her 27 year old daughter had both breasts removed because of breast cancer. Her daughter recently had a third surgery.

The irony of this is that the OC Supervisors refuse to fund testing for breast cancer for young women, yet the disease is so costly, these young women (like my former coworkers daughter) will cost the County, State and Federal governments so much more money in Medi-Cal expenses.

The problem with the SUPS not funding this program has nothing to do with opposing breast cancer care or using tax payers money(OMG- this regularly gets thrown around w/o much thought).

It is a political move, not fund a organization associated with abortion and no other reason.

Why beat around the bush? If women voters in significant numbers made a stink they will change their actions.

IT IS POLITICS.

Planned Parenthood needs to play the politics with their supporters in order to have influence.
