Norby going back to the classroom would definitely be good for the students. Mr. Norby was my history teacher in the early 90s. Disjointed thinking? Hardly. I’m very thankful to him that he allowed me to freely speak my liberal mind and to stand by principals even though he was a staunch conservative. This is a quality I’ve always admired.

No. 2 – shifting him back into teaching kids is not a good outcome either. We need to protect kids from disjointed thinking. Besides, teachers are about to be laid off. Maybe he can go into marriage counseling.

Its current occupant, former Anaheim Mayor Tom Daly, has been wasting his time there collecting a paycheck. The office basically runs itself. I know both men well enough to say that Ackerman’s always been a class act. He can be too moderate for us Conservatives, but he’s never been an embarrassment. He’s personable. not stuck on himself and will try to help you out if asked.

Norby’s not in Ackerman’s league. He’s not particularly smart and doesn’t well represent the principals he says he supports. He let his personal problems get the best of him and he ended up “asleep” on the courthouse lawn. If he’d been more successful he wouldn’t be settling for a department to run. His retirement beckons.

Hey Art, I wonder how they’re going to treat this news over at Red where Ackerman is still treated with respect even though he was once of the big instigators of the pragmatic Repuglican movement (remember Dick Riordan?).

This really is driven out of pure spite. Ackerman doesn’t give a rat’s ass who the Clerk/Recorder is.
