“A 60-year-old man leaving New Year’s Day Mass was assaulted by a man who was hiding in his van, police said. The incident unfolded at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 541 E. Central Ave., said Santa Ana police Cmdr. Tammy Franks,” according to the O.C. Register.
2009 is looking far worse already than 2008! Santa Ana is the county leader in weird acts of violence. I doubt you will find such attacks in any other Orange County city.
When will our City Council finally fire our inept and overpaid Chief of Police, Paul Walters? And how about firing lame City Manager Dave Ream? It is time for a fresh start! We desperately need new leadership at City Hall.
Our residents are being attacked at churches now – and a woman was recently robbed in her own driveway. Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido told us late last year that Santa Ana was one of “Orange County’s safest cities.” Isn’t it time for him to apologize publicly for that blatant lie? Shouldn’t Pulido’s entire “Team” (Carlos Bustamante, Claudia Alvarez and Vince Sarmiento) apologize for repeating this lie in their campaign mailers?
Here’s a New Year’s Resolution for Team Pulido – stop lying to your constituents!
According to the city-data.com website, Santa Ana had 23 murders in 2007. Does anyone know what the final count is for 2008? I’ll bet it was pretty high.
They cant fire Walters until he tries and loses the OCSD for a 3rd time, its the SAPD three strikes clause for senior managers.
John,
So, Santa Ana is a place holder for Walter’s political ambitions? Ah, Ream and Pulido’s Club of Cronyism rears its ugly head.
Well I would say so, he has tried for OCSD(2x) Marshall’s, LAPD, Riverside Sheriffs and an appointment in Sacramento.
Most be good working where the boss just wants to leave so bad he cant stand it, he cried when the BOS didnt give him the OCSD.
