True. But I have already stated previously that I did not intend to run for office. However, when no one credible emerged to take on Bustamante I decided to do it. The Democrats never did come up with a candidate, so I put my neck in the noose. I believe very strongly that Bustamante has been bad for the people of Santa Ana. Let’s see if the voters agree.

Right. Amusement that Busty would consider the quotes used serious statements, whereas SMS considers them “sarcastic”. And I disagree that they’re sarcastic.

I never said Art was serious 100% of the time. And Art’s quote regarding Democrats cheating on their wives is completely serious, given his opinion of Bill Clinton.

And how could a candidate for public office POSSIBLY conceive that what he or she has written/said/advocated for in the past would NOT be an issue? That strikes me as incredibly naive.

He did, and frankly, we didn’t see it as an issue. We still don’t. If this is all Busty can do against Art, well, he deserves to lose.

And to answer your question, off the top of my head, the quote about Democrats cheating on their wives was a perfect example of something sarcastic, so no, I don’t think Art is 100% serious all the time. Are you?

Besides, Busty still has the the lingerie dangling from his ear from the water bra comment. As I’m so fond of saying, ‘Pot, meet kettle!’ This election is going to boil down to whether or not people think Santa Ana needs improvement and whether or not they want developers who advocate gentrification to handle those improvements. That’s exactly how we wanted it, and now that’s how it is if this is all they got.

I mean, really, would it be legitimate for Busty to claim “I was just joking” or “this is simply a piece of sarcasm, lighten up”?

Busty is an empty suit. But Art HAD to know some of what he’s written on this blog could be used against him.

And what’s this about ‘legalizing hard-core drugs?’ Define hardcore drug. Marijuana? Puh-leeze.
