I guess I can ask Assemblyman Chuck Devore to send us a pie chart of the past four years expenditures which would answer the question of where did the additional money end up.
Yes, I can probably find it on line if I take the time to dig it up.

Larry -

As to the $40 billion dollars I think you might be referring to Assemblyman Chuck Devore’s input that since taking office the state budget has increased by that amount (while inflation and population growth simply cannot justify that annual budget explosion).'

Doesn't that just disgust you? Where is the money going? 'A billion here, a billion there; pretty soon it starts adding up to real money.'

Sarah.
This is truly a time for leadership.

Sadly the Governor has turned off many in the base who carried his water when displacing former Governor Davis.
As evidenced by the Placentia park video, Mayor Pringle was positive, as we all were, at a time when Arnold was able to reduce our prior massive deficit. What happened between July 2006 and July 2008 is not a mystery.

Larry -

Sadly our governor has become a RINO.

He's been a RINO for a while, but here he's acting as a moderator, and that's a governor's job. I'm with him on this one until someone proves to me that one cent is really going to break the back of the taxpayer at a time when we're what... $40 billion in debt I believe?

We can't lower taxes until we pay down our debt. That's all there is to it. And this is coming from a woman who used to live in New Hampshire where there is NO sales tax (or income tax, or corporate tax for small business), so I am not for new taxes on the whole, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and I think it's important that everyone stay reasonable and explore ALL options.
