I am sensitive to the fact that immigrants often have a very hard time picking up the English language. I did not learn English until I entered kindergarten. I knew only what I had picked up from Sesame Street and the Electric Company. However, I just received a copy of a letter (pictured above) sent out by Trung “Photoshop” Nguyen, last year’s failed Supervisorial candidate. He is still the Vice President of the Garden Grove Unified School District’s Board of Trustees. And his grammar is simply atrocious.
Here are some excerpts from his letter, which was sent to members of the OC GOP Central Committee:
- “As a former immigrant from Vietnam whose family escaped from Communism.” Former immigrant? Has Trung somehow rid himself of his immigrant status?
- “I has been married.” That sure sounds like Newt Gingrich! But it is just Trung screwing up the tense.
- “and I am a member with the California State Bar.” You meant “of” instead of “with”, didn’t you Trung?
- “Similar to February special election, the outcome of the June ’08 election is unpredictable, at best, and if the past can provide a look into the future, I will do very well.” Back to the Future with Trung!
- “due to an un-precedent recount effort.” Huh?
- “I am proud to have earned the endorsement of virtually every Vietnamese American elected officials in Orange County.” Watch it Trung, your horrendous grammar might lose you some of that support.
What a disaster! I can’t believe Trung is still in this race. He needs to get a clue and just go away.

can you please post the entire letter? I am unclear on the content the puropse and when the letter was sent. I would be interested to know about the above items concerning this letter.
Art, scan the letter! Even though he’s an elected member of the GGUSD, we want to see his inability to speak or write English — that would surely finish him!

Trung is so arrogant that he cannot even discern the fact that he is a terrible writer! He must be a control freak as well.
Back when I was a Republican, I used to edit much of Rosie Avila’s campaign material. It was horrible! She was Trung’s equal as a terrible writer. But Rosie was smart enough to have someone capable edit her missives.
Trung thinks he is the man. But he needs an editor. He is setting an awful example to the children of the Garden Grove Unified School District.
That photo alone could win him lots of votes from across the political spectrum. If this blog were better known, your rant would undoubtedly earn you strong reaction from the Vietnamese community. In any case, your Razaism is again clearly present. A sad testament you leave, Arturo.

I’ve seen emails from Michele and both her grammar and spelling are atrocious.
I would be very careful when assuming one is a control freak before looking into the mirror. Someone on your end must first approve all posts on this Blog before they appear. Sounds a little controlling if you ask me. How do we know that you are not limiting any of the opinions posted by your readers?
By the way, I’ve read numerous articles on this Blog of yours and let me just say that The Juice could stand to use an editor as well.

We are not talking about a few random emails. We are talking about a letter that Trung sent to ALL the OC GOP Central Committee members. This was Trung preening for the machine, and he fell on his face.
The reason we moderate our posts is that an ally of Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido, Stanley Fiala, keeps trying to post here using the F word. We have no choice but to filter that trash out. I believe that Matt/Jubal has banned Fiala from his blog.
The issue of Michele’s writing abilities is a Red Herring. The topic of this post is Trung Nguyen, who is running for Supervisor. Michele is not running for anything right now.
As for the articles on this blog, I edit my own and on occasion will help out my other bloggers. But for the most part what you see is what they write. Some of them are not perfect writers – but that is something you should discuss with them.
I can tell you however that NONE of my bloggers are running for Supervisor, and NONE of them are Vice Presidents of a school board, like your buddy Trung. He should quit the race now and save what little face he has left.
Can someone please explain to me how a county supervisor is going to stop illegal immigration? The Mexican border does not border OC does it?

obviously, janet’s camp sees trung a big threat to her re-election. as trung is in the game her chance to receive 50% plus 1 votes is getting slimmer. so the attack keeps coming from the hired gun, aka art pedroza.

Thanks for clarifying the official Trannie position. If one of them cannot beat Janet, then they will help anyone else who is running against her.
The Trannies have no philosophy, save to enrich themselves and their crooked allies. They hate Janet because she won’t join in their illicit reindeer games. Good for her!
The Trannies all endorsed the disgraced Mike Carona for Sheriff. But Janet was smart enough not to. She was the only Supervisor who did not endorse Carona.
Trung is an after-thought. He has already lost at least three elections in the last year and a half. He seems hellbent on losing another one.
As for Clownia Alvarez, good luck with that. She is despised in Santa Ana. The only question in my mind is who will do worse next year, “Photoshop” Trung or Clownia?
As to “I am proud to have earned the endorsement of virtually every Vietnamese American elected officials in Orange County,” the only elected Vietnamese American who has not endorsed Trung is KimOanh Nguyen-Lam, his fellow GGUSD board member. Unlike DINO Andrew Nguyen, the school custodian who pines to be another Andy Quach, KimOanh is the only one willing to stand up to the Trannies. Truth be told, I think Mr. Tran has maxed out his support in the Vietnamese community and this will be clearly evident when Janet sweeps to victory in her re-election bid.

E-mail messages and an official letter of support are hardly grammatically equatable.
The statement “former immigrant” is the best. This shows how important immigration is to the GOP election. He wants to distance himself from that word.
Is this an insight that there is a significant influence of nativism in the GOP. If so, why would the Vietnamese immigrant community or any other immigrant community be part of a political party that gives these types of groups a platform in order to win an election.
I see the caption underneath the photo reads, “Conservative Republican Trung Nguyen stands watch at the border”
I say good. He should go stand there and STAY there and work on his writing skills and never come back. I’m sure he would be a “scholar” amongst all those “minutemen”
Hehe, half the people Trung saw crossing the border while he was there probably write and speak better English than he does. What a bumper sticker, Art: “Illegals speak better English than Trung.”

Not at all. Trung merited criticism for two reasons. One, he is the VP of a school board. Two, he is an arrogant racist who despises Mexicans. Just look at his mailer last year, which pictured him at the Mexican border, “stopping the Mexicans.”
If Trung, who calls himself a “former immigrant” is going to assert that he is better than every other immigrant, then he needs to get an editor, because his unvarnished writing is lame.

Worst comments than thist are said on this blog and elsewhere everyday about Mexicans.
I understand you will defend Trung because he will argue your argument. many of us will critisize him for the same reason.
The sad thing is that he understands he is just a tool for the GOP agenda and will follow through anyway for personal gain while ignoring the harm he does to his Vietnamese immigrant community and other immigrant communities.
This letter should be forwarded on to the Aerospace Corp offices in El Segundo!
It is inappropriate for an Aerospace employee to talk about service(s) provided to their classified customers.
From this letter one would know that Trung works on system security and his customer is the Department of Defense.
All employee’s are instructed to not discuss work being performed with Aerospace Corp as a condition of employment!
